How can it be a state hiring rule when his salary is not from state funds? Why does NC State not have a "state hiring rule". This is ridiculus. I'm with Max on this crap. How could Central replace the (3) coaches who went to Shaw on June 29 th, with the coaches they announced on July 19 th? Why does our Atheletic Dept. feed us this crap, while we look at others replace coaches all the time apparently without a state hiring rule requirement of posting 30 days? We even announced coach Bibbs hiring within days of coach Roundtree's dismissal. WSSU basketball coach may also have been announced before 30 days what's with this state hiring rule crap? NCSU replaced Amato in less than three weeks. This crap is disgusting.

Damn!! I was afraid that was what happened. Another mistake by the athletic dept. in announcing so soon. What, are they gonna make it official Jan 16? So fotts didn't consider anybody else for the job, I mean other than adams and Petty?

You probably would have had to pay Petty $165,00 to be your dc. Petty's home is in the dc area and he is not going to move for a dc salary....look for him to stay in the dc area...So, who among you would give up 10% of your salary....It is the school's responsibility to raise $$ to operate a success program, not the coaches to give back salary..It seems to me that the effort should be to put pressure on the University to raise More money..your boster club(s) raise 20 % of what App State rAISES

Guys.. i hate to burst your bubble.. but theres nobody else coming on board to be the DC.. the DC is Adams and thats the way its gone be... There will be a new D-line coach and a new football ops person... but all this speculation about a new DC coming in.. go ahead and let it go...

I don't think we need to waste our time on Petty anyways. The guy was fired from HU for a reason. Be honest, what do you thing he would really do if he came to A&T? Besides it would be the same thing the conference has done time and time again: Shuffle old used up coaches from school to school year after year. Let's be different for once. As long as Adams gets us back to our old Blue Death selves i'll be satisfied.

We haven't scored on Petty's defense in TWO years. Meanwhile we had one of the worst defenses (if not the worst) statistically in school history. Adams teams have consistently given up gobbs of yardage and points. Petty's teams have consistently not given up a damn thang. Petty was a former assistant at A&T and hails from the state. There's no way in hell Petty was expecting to get 165 living in Greensboro as an assistant. The cost of living in Greensboro is half what it is in DC. I should know and I do know.
It's like we don't even want to be competitive.

We haven't had the talent to scorel on anyone! I like Petty. My brother went to school with him at Elon. He played under Ferguson I think while playing defense for Elon. I was at A&T when he was there coaching. I'm not totally convinced he'd make a difference.
