As much as I'd prefer to see a big-named defensive coordinator added to this staff in the upcoming months (and there certainly appears to be quite a few candidates still on the market), right now I think our most pressing need is to hire a veteran coach who's able to develop young quarterbacks.
Herbet Miller and Wayne Campbell might just be the most talented QB duo we have ever had at A&T and they both have three years of eligibility left. That means nothing, however, if they aren't given the proper tutiledge here to reach their maximum potential.
In my opinion, Jamal Fobbs, Lee Fobbs, Marshall Glen, et al, just don't have to pedigree to take Miller and Campbell to that proverbial next level. That was evident by Campbell's frustrating lack of improvement down the home stretch this past season. After a strong showing against Norfolk State in week five -in what was relief duty- he quickly came back down the earth the next game as a starter and never showed more than a few glimpses of promise during the remainder of the year.
With a real Qb coach on the staff, I'm sure his development and improvement this season would have been more profound. Same with Miller.
If Fobbs is serious about building a solid program for years to come, his first order of business should be to invest in his stable of talented, young signal callers.

Thrilla (my brother), we gave up over 40 points per game. Nuff said.

lol, we need a QB coach for this Herb Miller quote..."I run like Vick and pass like Manning. I'm the complete QB. the total package."
On a serious note though, Fobbs should reaccess his playcalling and probably go with the short passing game and defense needs to be overhauled...if I had to choose, I would go Defensive...

Thrilla, I have to disagree with you on this one. Defensive win championship. Our defense lack the defensive schemes and the intensiveness that a good quality Defensive coach bring to the table.
Speaking of Miller I was told by a reliable source that he may not be coming back. Stay tune.

We could bring in Buddy Ryan from the 85 Bears and our defense would still be piss poor for the next two years. Why? Because we just don't have the horses on that side of the football.
However, we do have talent at the quarterback position right now even if Miller does leave. We've got to take advantage of and cultivate the few positive aspects of our program that are currently in place.
I believe we have the makings of a bigtime QB in Campbell, but he won't realize his full potential if Fobbs Sr and Jr are his only mentors. That is not going to cut it.

I heard the same rumor He'll probably transfer to Winston. If he does, so be it. Everything is different since he was recruited; new coach, new AD, new Chancellor.

Winston is still 1-AA. He would have to sit out a year.

Coach Fobbs is going to have to make some decisions that will determine his credibility as a coach, as a teacher, as a motivator. Morale is low---- player's and they're parents are questioning if they made the right decision sending they're sons to A&T. I have not heard any player state how they can't wait until next year.

The only way he gets any credibility with me is to make a drastic change by doing one or more of the following:
1) Hiring a proven DC 2) Relieving himself of the OC duties 3) Bring in a transfer or two to bolster the OL 4) Recruiting a Bluechipper 5) Quit

It all begins and end in the offfensive and defensive lines. Get good line play and a decent scheme and you can take average backs or just above average skill people and destroy folks. That's all Jerry Moore is doing at App State.
I could have run my 50 plus year old a$$ through the kind of holes that they were opening up on Youngstown for 100 yards and some change.
In any season, superior line play on both sides of the ball will win you games 8 out ten times all by its lonesome. Botom line.

If Miller transfers it won't be to Winston. There is a 2 year sit out rule to transfer within the same conference

This football team has hit rock bottom and needs rebuilding. You cannot even begin to rebuild without a good defensive coordinator. The same goes for having an offensive coordinator so who A&T hire or don't hire will determined if the Aggies will flounder on the bottom for some time to come or will begin to climb out of this hole.
Herb Miller and App State feshman QB seem similiar to me.

Except the App State Qb has benefitted from some serious coaching.
