Heard he's no longer with us? What's going on? Why can't we keep someone in such a critical poaition?

The strength coach has quit after only a month on the job. Maybe football is at a point of no return? Now the AD has a chance to make a good decision that could benefit all the kids in each program. Instead of hiring one person to be the strength coach for all 13 programs, and everyone knows he would be under the football coach so only football would really benefit. Why not cotract the strength program out to Golds Gym or Quincy Roberts Gym where you would have a team of strength coaches working with ALL our programs so ALL the kids can get the proper training they not only need but deserve! This way your strength department would actually look like it is fully staffed instead of only having one person!!!

Why not? Because that makes entirely too much sense.

Im getting a sense that Fobbs may not be the easiest guy to work with. To much stuff has gone downhill and he has ran too many good people(players /S&C coaches) off.

Hey Dex, in your signature is that the old strength coach holding the flag running away from the team and looking back to make sure they don't catch him?

Good to know they didn't waste any time. Time is the one thing a S&C coach must have. I haven't given props often this year, but good job for finding a replacement quickly.

long or short, fast or slow, look at the hirings and tell me they don't blow. The job should have been contracted out to a fitness gym that had a full staff to support all of our sports. Good to know they didn't waste any time. Time is the one thing a S&C coach must have. I haven't given props often this year, but good job for finding a replacement quickly.

We got full facilities. Contracting out to a gym doesn't make any sense. Does anyone else do that?

I remember when the new library was built (I was a freshman when they built it). It was empty. I mean there were no where near enough books to fill that place. I started studying at UNCG. Now we've got this great facility for the athletes yet nobody to work with them. It's like if we had the library and had the books, but no professors. If we have one professor and several hundred students ain't nobody gonna learn nothing unless they teach it to themselves. If that's the case why hire one professor in the first place? Not criticizing at all. We can only do what we can do, and when you're budget ain't much you can't do much. But there's nothing to keep us from doing both (if we can afford to). What's wrong with contracting the strength and conditioning out to a gym and having them report results to the S&C coach? The S&C coach manages and the contracted peoples work. That's management. Management isn't rolling up your sleeves and doing it yourself. It's finding a way to get other people to do your work for you

I heard that the reason the S & C coach left is because is father got real sick in Alabama and he went to take care of him. The new guy we just hired was one of the three finalist for the S & C job initially

When the Soviet Union existed, every leader that was on his death was reported to only have a cold.
All the other sports at A&T are doing their strength and conditioning themselves by the assistant coaches or head coach. When I said contract out the service I was talking about having a staff not facilities. Maybe A&T could not afford to contract this out.
A&T's other sports need strength and conditioning just like the football program. You can't get rebounds if you are pushed away from the goal. You have seen or heard how important it is for baseball and to include softball. Have you seen the track sprinters lately? I think "Space" is handling this duty pretty well. Our athletes need to eat well also. So there is a need for a nutritionist, also, but this cost money.
