.. until further notice.
Brian, Wheeler, whoever: please change that message.
I'm sure you guys are just preparing to introduce a newly designed website. That is great news.
However, when you state that your existing site has been "shutdown until further notice" it makes it seem like something awful has happened.
Like the marketing budget has been cut, the webmaster has been fired, or the school just doesn't see the need for having an online athletics presence anymore.
Just say something like "this site is under construction. Please be patience while we develop a brand new and improved ncataggies.com".

And shut down is a term that should never be used in business or an athletic department.
You don't want to make your fans/customers think that you have stopped performing.
There is no reason to cause panic or confusion amongst your stakeholders. Especially when you are planning to introduce an upgrade.

THRILLA-- You said just about every thing that should be said. Makes no sense for them to place that message on there the way it is. Makes it sound like the site was shut down by order of the police or the university's attorneys.

That just shows the lack of talent they have working A&T's websites. A new site can be developed, tested and launched without ever bringing the original site to a stand still if you know what your doing.

Granted stating the site would be "SHUTDOWN" is the wrong term to use, but I think you guys are making to much of this. It was to my understanding that everything was done by Brian Holloway, is that still the case??

The point ATLaggie is that we are a technical school with Computer Programming as one of our signature degrees and whomever is in charge of our website doesn't know the proper way to transition to the new one.
How long has our main site and sports site been the way it is currently? I'm thinking at least 5 years or more. That in itself is insane for a university as large as ours. We dont even utilize a CMS. For you that dont know what a CMS is dont worry , neither do the people in charge of A&Ts site, lol.

It is difficult for me to believe that people in our computer department don't know what a content management system is, here again is an example of arrogant politics on the part of the University, We don't put the ACES IN THEIR PLACES, someone on another board spoke of how the city does not mention A&T in its promotions with all the money we bring to the city! We don't properly promote A&T in this City, The BDV wallpaper of beatdown unlimited should be on billboards all over the city, promoting the history making year and future of aggie ladies basketball, if they did we might get a couple of thousand citizens to come see Aggie ladies attempt another feat! The NBA, NFL, MTV, ACC, HOLLYWOOD are who they are because they, tell everybody, over and over and over and over! We don't write history books we are letting someone else write and tell our HIS-STORY (or not)

We dont even utilize a CMS. For you that dont know what a CMS is dont worry , neither do the people in charge of A&Ts site, lol. Pieces of the A&T site are now utilizing a CMS system such as SACS accreditation page, pieces of the Chancellor's page and a few of the colleges. However, its still a hot mess that needs to be fixed asap.

I am a current A&T student majoring in Graphic Communication Systems & Technological Studies. The professors in the School of Technology have been "begging" Dowdy Hall to let students from GCSTS redesign the university's website along with the Athletics site. However, administration rather pay out tons of dollars (that could be going towards greater things) to a web master that has little or no connections with A&T. And the messy websites are the result. If they let us SoT students design the websites, I would give us and opportunity to show case our department. And it would help recruit SoT students to N.C.A.& "T" S.U.

It looks like the website is going to be powered by Jumptv.com. This should represent a significant improvement, especially with live streaming.
