I'd tried, but I just can't motivate myself to make the trip to Charlotte. Gas prices have gone back up, Ohio State and Michigan are playing and I want to check out the new James Bond movie later that evening.
Anyway, here's my predicition:
SCSU 47, A&T 7

I got Meeeshigan by a field goal...you havent seen an obnoxious college town until you've been in Columbus. If it isn't about Buckeye football they don't want to discuss it....meanwhile they are about to remove the Black studies library there on campus, undoing all of the struggles of Black college students in the 60's and 70's. I hate them Anglo's...I hope they lose by three touchdowns.
Oh yeah, Bulldogs by at LEAST 5 touchdowns. I'm thinking 56-14.

Let me readjust my Michigan vs. OSU prediction...Bo Schembecler just passed, they'll win it big for the old coach...Michigan by two touchdowns, 31-17.

I have to go. My wife is an SCSU alum(and so is my brother, cousins, aunts, etc. (i'm an SC native)) and she loves going to this game. I tried to talk her out of it, but she told me that I would be dying to go if A&T was winning, so I need to support them now. This game is going to be so painful to watch. I'll DVR OSU-Mich. Keep me in your thoughts as prayers.

A&T vs. UGA Game
Nice pregame ceremony (a la NBA). I countered by waving my Aggie house banner/flag throughout the game. ;D
Basically, it was two games in one. Our ladies were suffering from "rank shock" during the first half. UGA's defense forced us away from the basket, therefore a lot of perimeter passing. When they got closer, they would pass up jump shots to get closer and force up bad shots (inside 10 feet). Too many turnovers. They played with little intensity and too many TOs. During the second half, they stepped up their game. While the point margin was too much to overcome, we improved on both ends of the court. On offense, the guards started penetrating and dishing off to the open player but the shots would not drop. The post play also became stronger and I attribute that to Lonise Coulter. She made her presence known in the paint. Even against UGA's towers, she wanted the ball down low and handled it well once she got it. Coulter's play helped the guards break down UGA's defense. I really like the increased tempo on defense. Their full court press slowed UGA down. They took away passing lanes and were tougher guarding the ball. This resulted in several shot clock violations.
Overall, I believe the ladies lost this game mentally by focusing too much on the fact that they were playing the No. 8 team in the country. Though the stats don't show it, their 2nd half performance showed me they can play. We should do fine in conference play.
