Southern head football coach Stump Mitchell will embark on an eight-city regional tour to meet with alumni and fans.
The tour, dubbed "Stumping thru the South", features Mitchell, his coaching staff, other athletic department employees and the Southern University Alumni Federation. Six stops will be made in Louisiana and Texas during April, with two additional stops in May.
Stumping thru the South is intended to introduce Coach Mitchell to the Jaguar Nation and for staff to share the progress and future goals of Jaguar athletics. The tour also serves as an opportunity for fans to reserve season tickets for the 2010 football season, said Southern University athletic director Greg LaFleur.
The first stop is scheduled for 6 p.m, April 21 in Alexandria.
Other cities on the tour include: Lafayette (April 22); Beaumont, Texas (April 23); Houston (April 24); Monroe (April 28); and Shreveport, (April 29). Stops in Lake Charles and Jackson, Mississippi are also being scheduled.
