Does anyone know the relationship between NCCU and Honda? They get picked to perform in the Battle of The Bands every year and I know it can't be because they are that good. We have all heard them and they are in fact not that good. What's the deal???

Three Words: Not The MEAC...
I wouldn't say that the two have any kind of relationship or deal or anything...NCCU's marching sound machine is a decent band when they want to be, not great but decent.....NCCU's band made the Honda as many times as they did because of the voting categories they were in (CIAA & Independent). From 2005-2007 Central repped the CIAA...i mean the top of the totem pole was them, VA state and so on... from 2008 to Now, they are in the independent category where there is not any great bands and with Tennessee state choosing NOT to participate that leaves the door open for NCCU to get in....
Rest assured that this will be NCCU's last year at Honda as long as they are a MEAC institution. This is simply because: 1. The competition is too steep in this conference. (FAMU, B-CU, NSU, A&T, SCSU) and 2. Bethune-Cookman and FAMU run the MEAC when its time for Honda...you are not going to have a Honda where at least 1 of the Florida school is not in the lineup
now i think your real question should be: "Who are B-CU & FAMU paying off to get into the Honda every year?" ;D
