IMO, It looks and smells like a Fobbs type gamble to maximize things with their budget constraints. Problem is, unlike A&T or WSSU, they don't have a Wheeler Brown or Bill Hayes type football savvy AD to help guide things for them.

Rutgers wide receivers coach Brian Jenkins has accepted the head coaching job at Bethune-Cookman, the Newark Star-Ledger reported Friday.
Citing an anonymous source, the Star-Ledger said Jenkins would begin his new job after tonight's St. Petersburg Bowl game between Rutgers and UCF.
A person familiar with the hiring, who also requested his name not be used, confirmed the report to The News-Journal on Friday evening.
B-CU athletics director Lynn Thompson did not return phone calls from The News-Journal on Friday. Athletics department spokesman Mark Johnson said Thompson would have no comment on the report and that the school would hold a news conference announcing a new head football coach "on Monday, at the earliest."
The Courier News of Somerville, N.J., and the Home News Tribune of East Brunswick, N.J., reported Jenkins will be introduced here Monday.
Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano told The Star-Ledger that he and his assistants would not address questions unrelated to the bowl matchup until after tonight's game.
On Dec. 11, Thompson said B-CU's selection committee wanted to have a replacement for Alvin Wyatt named by the end of this week, but that the absolute deadline was by Christmas so the new coach would have time to assemble a staff and get started on recruiting. National Signing Day is Feb. 3.
