Elon football tickets on sale Friday, December 11, 2009 (Updated 11:01 am)
ELON — Looking to build on the school’s first NCAA FCS playoff appearance, Elon has put 2010 season tickets on sale.
Until Feb. 28 fans can purchase season tickets at the same cost as 2009, when prices ranged from $35 to $160 per season ticket.
“This marks the first time we have made tickets available this early, but it was necessitated by fans calling and wanting to get their seats now,” said Michael Jacobs, director of marketing and ticket operations.
“Some fans want to purchase tickets as Christmas gifts, while others just want to make sure they are inside Rhodes Stadium next season.”
After the Feb. 28 deadline, season-ticket prices will increase $5 or $10.
Elon finished 7-1 in the Southern Conference this season and 9-3 overall. The school will release its 2010 football schedule in the spring.

It is a great move. This move gives a sense of urgency of "you better get it now or it won't be there". There is added bonus of having extra money now.

WE should be doing the same thing. i think we just might want to first have a winning season before we think about raising ticket prices...

I say run this kind of promotion about a month or so out from April 15th (right after national signing day) when folks start filing those taxes and getting those rapid refunds back.

In my opinion, the cool thing about this promotion is that Elon is offering season ticket packages early; not just raising ticket prices.
I think they are trying to take advantage of their fan's current optimism and market this around the holiday season.
