Too deep, too quick, with excellent rebounding and shot blocking against a fairly tall opponent and too many good perimeter shooters for Brevard to defend against at one time. Led by 20 by halftime.
Robert Johnson picked up the leadership role (18 pts), Nic Simpson has radar on his threes (21 pts), and Coleman owned the paint on both ends; five blocks in the first half alone and double/double for the night (11 pts, 14 reb.). Witter did not score but blocked four shots.
Eaves has a lot of young athletes with size that played surprisingly solid defense and a lot of offensive weapons outside the ring; the shot clock is not a factor with this group.
If you like your basketball up and down and wide open then best buy your tickets now if you haven't already.
That's the short version on this one.

I'm glad we won but to see we jacked up 39 three pointers is concerning. Live by the three; die by the three.
Good news = 12 turnovers while forcing 22

Eaves has already said he intends to live and die by the three; it was good to see Coleman had more inside moves. These were used mainly when he got a rebound.

I only saw the second half; I will tell you Upchurch is the real deal. And the stats show Whitter had 4 blocked shots.
Make know question about it Upchurch has the potential to be a dominant player.

Yea Coach Eaves said he wants to take 40 threes a game. The key will be turnovers you cant dictate the pace of the game if you are turning the ball over. The team has alot of players that can shoot the three - the 40 threes dont bother me at all. With our fast pace style a ball you will be able to determine who won the game by our turnover stats
The Marshall game will answer a few more questions.

Good work guys. I got there late...about 7 mins to go. It was too late. I see that the players are getting their legs. This offense/defense takes work. I like the trap. To me its a little like the 'pooch kick' in football. I forces people to handle the ball that does not have a 'handle'. Hence, a turnover. Good teams will be better at attacking our press, while others will have a big man just catch it across the line and wait for the ballhandler.
We will need our legs/bench (for our jumpers and for our defense closing in on a pass by the opposition). But the opposition will need theirs also. John McClendon, RIP, wanted a shot within 8 seconds or something like that. Torrid pace! running & passing.
This is like NBA ball for the most part.
Coleman had 5 blocks...wow! There is nothing like the team thinking that they have a easy basket and then Here comes Coleman! Man..I hate I missed so much.
Did anyone check the stream? I did for a hot min. A&T is on the move!
