www.news-record.com/content/2009/11/20/article/nc_at_approves_tuition_fee_increaseBy Jonnelle Davis Staff Writer GREENSBORO — The $110 tuition increase N.C. A&T’s Board of Trustees approved Friday for undergraduates — and the General Assembly’s legislated increase earlier this year — carry a similar financial impact for students, Chancellor Harold Martin said. But what will be different if the university’s increase prevails is that the money generated will go to campus needs, Martin told the trustees. In addition to the tuition increase, A&T’s trustees also approved a $93.25 increase in fees for athletics, educational technology, student activities and health services. Together, that will mean an additional $203 undergraduates will pay next year. That represents a 5.5 percent increase in tuition and a 6.4 percent increase in fees... Entire Article

The $93 is NOT just athletics. READ. Educational TECHNOLOGY, Student Activities, and Health Services.

The $93 is NOT just athletics. READ. Educational TECHNOLOGY, Student Activities, and Health Services. Yep, the money is spread around. Every university/college is asking for increases in tuition. Look at California and other schools in the UNC system. The internet failure was not the fault of the University. Today's power outage was not either.

It was the fault of the site manager doing the renovation on Cherry Hall. He was told by COMAR not to cut some wires that he chose to cut anyway.

I just wish that one year the administration would compile a list of all the "NEW" improvements that fee increases go towards. When we received the Bond back in the early 2000s we had a website that showed pretty much where every single dollar went. I think student fees should be held in just as much if not higher regard. Technology, Activities and Health Services. Sounds more like increased pay checks than increased services.

when cable, hospital, phone, or gas go up, do you ask why or how it will be applied. Come on folks, we all saw this coming with the state budget cuts. In capitalism, you cut labor and raise the price to get back into the black.

Sixties is absolutely right. The state servers for Outlook and email were down across all of state government, not just at A&T.

Technology, Activities and Health Services. Sounds more like increased pay checks than increased services. They are supposed to show the reasons for the increase and show where the money is going. But anyways, I am definitely in favor of these increases, except the Athletics. We have to keep our professors on the payroll and hire more to keep class size down and allow for students to get a top notch education. I was having a interesting debate on this and an argument I have is if 203 dollars is going to break your school budget, something is gravely wrong. If you are working 2-3 jobs just to make tuition and/or rent, you are living way beyond your means and have to make a change. If that means you have to sit out of school for a while and work to pay off your credit card debt and improve your credit to get a student loan without a co-signer. Alot of students, and yes I made these mistakes, are mismanaging their funds and spending money that should be spent on books, rent and other school expenses on extra curricular activities that are not needed. They also are not knowledgeable of credit cards and living within their means. I spent refund check money on shoes, clothes and unnecessary trips, trying to be flashy and keep up with the jones.

Plus I hope you question bill when they rise in your house instead of "Going with the flow". If not then I got a AT&T bill for ya. No questions... ;D

Exactly. We really need to work on our PR within the university to make students happier. Maybe when they graduate they will give more
