Our offensive coaches have not shown an ability to effectively use their tight ends, so this guy would be of little use to us.

I'd certainly invite him in and take a very serious look at him. Carolina lists him as a wide receiver, not a tight end, but at 6'5" and 220 he'd make a great target for touchdowns and first downs.

All depends on what he was suspended for...we had a lot of dropped passes this year. If the kids hands are as good as reported maybe we should take a look.

If they could barely figure out a way to utilize a pass catching tight end like Fisher, what makes you think they would be able to use this kid?
He probably would just get frustrated and look to transfer somewhere else in a year.

A&T has some good receivers coming back next season, such as Miles, Rapper, Cooper, Thomas, and a few others. If wide recievers Whitaker and Gould can improve their game, and tight ends Stewart and Thomas can transition from being freshmen to productive sophomores, the passing game will be very good.

Like i said all year its not the offense its the person whose running it. Which is why we suddenly were able to put 21 up in the first half instead of the whole game.

i think kindle's performance last week proved that fears wasn't looking at all of his targets. kindle hit his wideouts, backs, and tight ends last week. he really did a good job distributing the ball. i think the promise of kindle will be attractive to any receiver. when you've got a qb that sees the entire field and throws "accurately" with touch, that's any receiver's dream come true...

That's my point. A&T will have a very good core of young receivers (WRs & TEs) coming back along with a couple of veteran receivers (excluding Miles), who need just a little improvement in their performance. AND, if there is a steady progression in the development of the QB position, A&T should be a major force in the conference. Well that may be a bit overly optimistic, because we still have to consider other variables such as the OL (achilles' hill?), coaching and the loss of some defensive stalwarts. I think I'll stick with the overly optimism. We will be a force next season. Too bad the seniors don't have another year.

oleschool,
That's why I'm optimistic. I agree that both sides of the line must be a high priority.

Also remember we have some o-line guys that are being red-shirted this year. Excellent! This means they should be ready to start in two years, their redshirt sophomore year. Next year, you hope they can play a few downs and maybe one of them will be good enough to start.
