He says doesn't plan to build the team through transfers at all. That's refreshing to hear. It appears he has a good grasp on the situation and the team has incrementally improved. I honestly think this guy could be a pretty damn good coach if we bothered to give him the tools. If he doesn't get a dramatic increase in budget all bets are off.
It's a sin that he's head coach and o.c. Since he's supposedly being paid outside of university funds they should've found an extra 80 grand to get him an o.c. That way he could devote more time to being the head coach.

Like I said before, that OC title is misleading. His son Jamal and Coach Ray are running the show on offense right now. Fobbs probably explained to them his vision and left them alone to implement it. He is not the one calling the plays but I'm sure he has veto power.

He'll be better than okay if they (new administration) gives him the necessary money to recruit the kids who he has real strong leads on. A whole bunch of those potential signees will be on campus this weekend and they ain't no joke.
This game is major. Expect him to pull out all stops.

This also puts an end to the issue of contact with local coaches, not only is it done it’s methodical.
How many people attend the press conference?

Let me see ... your's truly, Rob Daniels, Spencer, Mel, two or three guys from the Aggie Club, a couple of A&T administrators like Wheeler, Dee Todd and Keith McCluney, guy from A&T Register, guy from Aggie TV and there used to be a couple of camera men from the local stations but they stopped coming a few weeks ago.
That' about it.

Well finally all the rumor mills about the current coaching staff not making contact with local in state coaches can finally be debunked. They are out on Friday nights during the season - looking at games, calling and receiving calls, meeting with coaches, and screening players.
A far cry from the last group who waited until all the equipment inventory was done and decided they might begin contact kids after Thanksgiving.

That ain't true either. I've sat with kids early in the season that were invited by the previous coaching staff.
...They ain't come because what we put on the field was so disgusting, but they were there.
Speaking of potential signees, we're bringing them in homecoming weekend?!?

Yep, we are bringing in a substantial number of coaches players and families from both in-state, (many from the main recruiting football areas in North Carolina), and out for a look see around a modern HBCU campus and to take in the festive atmosphere of A&T and our fan base during homecoming.
We might be down but not too many 1-AA programs can bring in 23,000 plus with an 0-6 record, homecoming or not.
