I would say about 300 Aggies were in attendance. The Aggies were out in force and they were fired up when I got there with the drum line performing and after Coach Lee and Coach Bibbs got finished, they had the place rocking. The food was good and the coprorate sponsors stood up big time. Hat's off to Wal-Mart and Pepsi for supporting A&T atheltics.
Jim McLeod really deserves a special note of praise for planning and delivering a wonderful event.
The Wal-Mart store managers told me that they are going to flood all four Greensboro stores with all kinds A&T paraphenalia beginning this weekend leading up to homecoming. And they dropped a 9K donation in there for good measure.

If you plan on buying any Aggie gear this weekend, make sure you stop by one of the 3 Walmarts in Greensboro.
They just donated $9000 to the A&T athletic department.

www.bluedeathvalley.com/news_walmart_holds_third_aggie_fundraiser_10_31_09Shoppers at the Walmart in Greensboro on W. Elmsely Drive were greeted with an unexpected display of Aggie Pride on October 22. For the third consecutive year, the global retail giant cleared out its center isle and honored the North Carolina A&T athletics department with an in-store celebration. The event, sponsored in part by the Greensboro chapter of the Aggie Club and organized by longtime A&T boosters Jim and Elaine Mcleod, featured live performances from the Blue and Gold Marching Machine drum line and the A&T cheerleaders. The celebration couldn’t have come at a better time for Walmart, which has dramatically increased the amount of A&T merchandise it now offers and hopes to attract plenty of Aggie shoppers this weekend during A&T’s homecoming. Throughout the evening several A&T leaders spoke to a crowd of nearly 300 onlookers, including athletics director Wheeler Brown, women’s basketball coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs and football coach Alonzo Lee. In addition, the store made a $9,000 donation to the A&T athletic department, after having previously contributed $1000 to the school each of the last two years. Several Walmart vendors – including Bottling Ventures, Frito Lay, Time Warner Cable, and Kellogg Snacks - also donated gift items to the Aggie Club, ranging from outdoor grills to big screen TVs. Those items will be auctioned off in a fundraiser later this year.

Went by Walmart on Wendover and they were out of Aggie gear. Elm Street had stuff left but were out of larger sizes. All I could buy was a $7 cap.

I guess this is a good thing. It might mean that they had more demand for the A&T gear this year than they anticipated.
