Hey whats up guys, I don't know if everybody had heard but A&T's Marching band performed down at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte. This was on National Television on ABC. The Blue & Gold Marching Machine was the first HBCU band to do such an event. This was a big event for Nascar since they honored the 1st class of Hall of Famers. This was big for our school and band because Nascar officials came to an HBCU and offered them to perform for this big event and could have gotten any PWC in the state but they chose A&T. So lets all appreciate this historical accomplishment for our band!!

What did yall get for going down there? Did they pay for yall to come down there or did yall get a huge check from NASCAR? where yall better on Saturday then yall were at Dudley's homecoming? Dont feel bad that you think the school and alums dont respect yall. If you are doing the best you can then the respect will come.

i think its a great accomplishment and very good exposure for a&t. the only thing that doesn't excite me is the fact that 99% of nascar don't know jack about hbcu bands. so i'm not sure if we were invited because they think we're one of the best hbcu bands or whether their was some other connection that earned us an invite. most white folks don't know the difference between a good hbcu band and a great hbcu band...

Blank, can you fill us in on how and why we were selected? Well from what I have heard, Nascar officials had seen some clips from A&T's band on Youtube and thought we would be a great asset to perform for the Lowe's Motor Speedway since, that was considered their big Homecoming. So Nascar spoke with Dr. Ruff and Dean Plater who is over the College of Arts & Science, which the band is under and asked if we would have liked to participate.. At first Doc declined the invitation but the Nascar officials came back and really wanted the band to participate. So Doc then talked to the band members to see what their opinion was on all of this. Some were very skeptical about it, but then they thought about how much exposure they would get out of this and maybe even some sponsorships.. So the band agreed and the rest was history
