I agree with all the comments this game was won and lost in the first half. We had chances to put points up but could not close the deal. This team and coaching staff have to find ways to get touchdowns. The O-Line had its worst game this year, Raper was use twice and then forgotten about. Graham played corner all night what happen to Quay Long ? Long has been a playmaker in our first two wins. I know this is going to take a little time but we must play and put our playmakers to use in always

Raper has to be on the field at all times. Raper and Mayhew on the field at the same time gives the d something else to think about. And for right now I think Fears gives us the best chance to win, but we MUST get more creative and crisp on offense. Overall, I see the vast improvement in this team from previous years and we are only going to get better.

Wow, I just checked the official box score and it says we had over 13,000 in attendance against Hampton. That is outstanding for a wet night.
With near sellouts likely to come in our upcoming games against NCCU and homecoming, we might finish in the top 10 in average attendance this year.

We just don't have a lot of creativity on offense right now. Opposing defensive coordinators have seen us on film now and know all about the roll-out passes and the bubble screen. We have not thrown a pass to the tight end since that end zone drop against WSSU, which means we are not attacking the middle of the field. BTW: Our QB coach (whoever that is now) needs to do a better job. Both of our guys display the same bad habits. Niether of them have ever used a double pump or tried to look off a safety. They just lock in on the one receiver they expect to be open based on their knowledge of that particular play. For Fears that receiver was usually Wallace Miles. For Kindle that receiver was Derek Gould. When you are only able to throw to one receiver and not go through your progressions, linebackers will eventually just follow your eyes and make easy interceptions. That's what happened last night. We need to scrap this caveman offense and really find a way to utilize our weapons. It has to start with the offensive line. The qb's didn't have enough time to look off defenders or go through their progressions.

Watching our first few series I told the wife that we looked like the superior team. I was surprised. Then we just bogged down.
One thing Coach Lee's defenses have always had a problem with is deep passes. Actually, that's the only thing Coach Lee's defenses have had a problem with.
The good thing is we know we can win. Losing to a team that shellacked you 59-14 one year ago by 10 pernts is one hell of an improvement.

Quay is nursing a badly strained calf muscle, the secondary will become really solid once he and T Webb are back in the lineup, Webb may be back next week, one negative thing that is consistent in our defense is that soft inner belly_ Morgan State killed us with crossing patterns last year, FAMU attacked us there, NSU and HIU this year. It is effective, we scored on a similar pass pattern and never went up field again,

Nah i disagree because i looked at Morgan stats from last year and they secondary was ranked one of the top secondaries in the country i think they averaged 2 picks a game and had around 20 something on the season.(6 of them being against nccu) I was at famu homecoming when they played and we all know how famu thrives on that deep ball, they didn't even test that secondary, and neither did Hampton. I believe when we see this secondary prove they can lock receivers down man to man we will see this defense change dramatically in a good way.

Fellas, this game was not lost by the defense. The inability for the offense to move the ball doomed us. The biggest turning point was....Hampton had the momentum going into the half. Second half we kicked off and the defense went right out there and got a sack and fumble in Hampton's territory. Our first play was a pick and the momentum went right back to Hampton.

Game could have easily been 14-0 or 17-0, and then our defensive play calling would have been completely different.
