NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State football team held its second preseason scrimmage on Saturday morning at Dick Price Stadium. With several key starters held out for precautionary reasons, the scrimmage gave younger players a chance to earn a name for themselves and make a case for added playing time. Redshirt sophomore DeVonte Reynolds (Warsaw, Va.) worked with the first team at free safety and spearheaded a solid defensive effort for that unit. He intercepted one pass and broke up two others. Reserve outside linebacker Terrence Pugh (Chesapeake, Va.) also played well, leading all players with two and a half sacks. The highlight for the offense was a 45-yard pass completion from Dennis Brown (Miami, Fla.) to Chris Bell (Norfolk, Va.). That set up a 27-yard Justin Castellat (Virginia Beach, Va.) field goal. www.nsuspartans.com/news/2009/8/22/FB_0822094221.aspx
