Man, I'm in need of a few good suite parties at the Sheraton. They have become legendary.
The younger Alums have been shown how to do it. Now they pack the Sheraton. I don't care if LL Cool J is throwing something, just give me the rm. number to the Detroit Alum., or the Alumni Band party...I'll bring the noise and the Aggie Pride! I learned this early on... if you put together a space( it has to be kinda tight, some spirits, some good music and some Aggies, then 'pound for pound', we will match up with anyone. I'm trying to get used to this 'silent dancing shyt'.
(disclaimer, I only turn it on during homecoming, lol, one must be responsible)....( Full disclosure) ... my 2nd degree was received from the Cosmos, Moore Gym, Trent St. Appt. & Steadman St. Appts. I'm well studied...
BTW, a friend went an peeked in on the Aggie/ Eagle ballroom party Sat.@ the Sheraton ( spons. by NCCU Alumni). He said that it was about 10 people in there. (I think it was $20 or $25 ). >I'll tell you where many Brothers are now. If your party is $20 from the jump( no food, no drinks), & is not a fundraiser, then you can have that! Those days are over!
>This "celebrity party" vibe started this whole movement it seems. I remember the days when a party could stand on its Own....hell just the other year, there were many stars at the Chuck Brown show during the CIAA.
This year may be crazy. Its the last home game, halloween, the battle of homecomings & the growing Aggie Swagger. Sssesh, High Point Rd will be a parking lot on sat night.

The Alumni Band party suite is my favorite. However the wife is looking like that penguin in the happy feet cartoon right now, so I might have to miss this year's festivities.

Don't get me wrong, I'm down with the Alumni shows, (I'm just not feeling this one), normally I would generally leave at some point with my mind on the suites....thats just me. There is nothing like seeing the Brothers from scott hall or senior dorm and we flash back!

I was told that the Sheraton will have secured floors by Homecoming. That means you will have to have a room card to access floors. Most hotels are doing this now. This should make things interesting to say the least, if true.

Bigboy, please dont tell me that. The Sheraton needs to be free! Free Ron Isley....Free Ron Isley!! lol sorry, I got caught up. The beauty of the sheraton is the wave of new people from the elevators that comes into the suite ever-so-often. Its not stagnent water.
If I was the Sheraton, I would just grease the palms of the all of the staff, service the elevators and the AC the week of...then just sit back, count my money, and collect roll-over reservations for next year.

The Sheraton would be stupid to mess up a good thing like the party suites. They are messing around with too much potential money.
Only the folks in Dowdy are that stupid.

NC A&T Drops All Support For Gucci Mane Concert
By Roman WolfeOfficials at North Carolina A&T have decided to remove the university’s name and association with an upcoming homecoming concert featuring controversial rapper Gucci Mane. Students on campus protested Gucci Mane’s headlining slot during A&T’s upcoming homecoming concert, which also features performances by OJ Da Juiceman, Fabolous, Trey Songz and Keri Hilson. Gucci Mane’s alleged gang ties and his violent lyrics are at the center of the dispute. "The headliners booked for our student concert have generated dissonance among our student leaders and our constituents," Chancellor Martin said. "This dissonance has provoked internal discussion and policy reviews which are both necessary and welcomed and which will undoubtedly make us better as a university community.” Because Gucci’s contract was already signed and over 6,000 tickets have been sold, he will be able to perform during the homecoming festivities, which takes place October 31. But, after several meetings, A&T has officially withdrawn all support and any association with the concert, due to Gucci Mane’s appearance. “We have agreed with the promoter to remove the name of North Carolina A&T State University from the event,” Chancellor Martin revealed. “While this does not absolve us of our connection to the event, it allows us, within our limited options, to take a moral stand while we simultaneously honor our legal obligations.” allhiphop.com/stories/news/archive/2009/10/07/21969517.aspx
