Though I thought we would be bad this year I didn't think we would be this bad, but believe it or not, I'm still looking forward to every game. I don't know if we got better this week. Listening to the game it appeared we created more "beat yourself situations" than the previous weeks. Which leaves me to believe we are losing the mental focus part of the game. It will be interesting going into to NSU if Fobbs can get the team mentally ready to play. I expect NSU to be flat this week.

with the team as we have now, does anyone believe we can beat Morgan? (serious question)

We can't beat anybody right now. Morgan has a few of our former coaches and they have a very good running back (that they fail to utilize as much as they should). My heart says of course we can beat Morgan, my heart and head combined says we can take them to overtime, my head alone says they'll blow us out.

yeah I figured as much myself. hadn't seen or heard much from them since my brother doesn't go to the games up there in B-more. all i knew was that they got drubbed by Towson in their first game.
it figures we won't beat them - even on the best day running the ball in division I history, we still lost the game to them

I guess the ultimate question is when (or if) is this team going to gel? We're just behind in preparation (as usual) and that is what causes a lot of what we're seeing. We're constantly behind the eight ball.

Something drastic has to change defensively. Something. The defense can't afford to just "gel" because it's lack of success is causing the offense to get very few field position breaks. Our average field starting position is probably our own 17 yd line.
Maybe moving Davion to the Sam LB and putting the freshman from Charlotte or Johnson in at the Mike LB would at least put a bigger presence in the middle.
The offense will get better as the QBs get minutes. The OL is what it is. Everybody is learning what kind of effort it takes OJT. If the offense was given at least two or three short fields(outside own 40) per game that's worth at least another TD or more per game.
Sad to say (finally) I don't see us winning another game unless the defense make a quantum leap this week. The problem is I don't see anything that gives me that hope other than Fobbs' tendancy to be realistic. I don't think he's resigned himself to losing. Something will change this week. I just don't know what.

I say try some of the fbs play lb. Probably a bad idea, but Ortiz Green played some lb at EE Smith, didn't he?
Like you say, Maxell, somethin drastic has to change.

I just learned that Davion Hemphill was held out of the ULL game because of a shoulder injury but he is expected to return to action this week. DL Tyre Glasper, however, suffered a broken leg against the Ragin Cajuns and is out for the season. Fobbs says that he will petition the NCAA for a medical redshirt.
Other injuries: Brandon Long with be out 3 to 4 weeks with a knee injury and right now Fuerguson is still listed as questionable.

As thin as A&T is in the defensive line I woudn't be surprised if a couple of backup bodies move over from the offensive side of the line to defense.
