We have the worst defense in the nation. There's just nothing else to be said about that. I don't know how some of these kids even got college scholarships when they obviously are unable to a make the most routine tackles.
On a positive note, I see that Campbell came in for relief duty in the second half and finished 7-of-14 for 105 yards passing and one touchdown (a two-yard pass to Andre Garth).
Those are pretty good numbers for the freshman single-caller, even in garbage time.
Could this be the start of a new QB controversy?

Curt Walls had eight catches for 118 yards, with a long of 38. Not bad at all.

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -- Tyrell Fenroy rushed for 104 yards on 14 carries to lead the Louisiana-Lafayette to a 48-7 victory over North Carolina A&T on Saturday.
Louisiana-Lafayette (1-2) rushed for 330 yards for the game compared to just 41 for North Carolina A&T (0-3).
To open the game, the Aggies gained at least four yards on four straight plays but a false start penalty killed the drive. Louisiana-Lafayette's Jason Chery blocked the ensuing punt and Johnny Felders returned the ball 18 yards into the end zone. The point after was unsuccessful, giving the Cajuns a 6-0 lead just 4:14 into the game.
In the second quarter, the Cajuns built their lead to 20-0 with a five-play, 45-yard drive that included two big runs by Fenroy. Chester Johnson scored his first touchdown since Nov. 5, 2004 with a 7-yard run to pull the Cajuns in front 27-0 later in the quarter.
The Aggies took over on the 14-yard line and on third-and-three, quarterback Herbert Miller fumbled the ball which Felders recovered.
Felders returned the ball to the 8-yard line and a penalty moved the ball up to the four. Fenroy took the handoff up the middle and walked into the end zone untouched on the next play to give Louisiana-Lafayette a 34-0 lead at the half.
On third-and-six from the Cajuns' 24-yard line, Babb completed a 53-yard pass to Chery. Then Babb broke a 10-yard run, followed by a 13-yard scoring run -- his second touchdown of the game -- to make it 41-0. At the end of the third, Deon Wallace ran 45 yards and scored to boost the Cajuns' lead to 48-0.
The Aggies scored in the fourth after driving to the 3-yard line. Quarterback Wayne Cambpell completed a 2-yard pass to Andre Garth for their only touchdown.

Could this be the start of a new QB controversy? Nope. He was playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers and missed several open receivers. Miller had at least 2 or 3 balls just plain dropped. Campbell has the most upside. Miller is better right now.

We appear to have rushed the ball 28 times and passed 26. I know Fobbs wants to be balanced. However, it is clear through the first three games that we cannot generate a rushing attack.
Shouldn't we air it out more? Don't get me wrong, we're 0-3 either way. I just think we could be more productive offensively if Fobbs abandons the running game for now. The o-line just aint capable of opening holes.

They can't pass block either. At least by pretending to run we're somewhat protecting the qb. Also, notice who got the most carries.
If we do pass we have to pass almost exclusively with three step drops in order to keep guys healthy. At this pernt it wouldn't be a bad idea, I just doubt we can execute a precision short passing game with any bit of consistency.

Aggies fail to get ground game on track in loss to La.-Lafayette
By Stephen L. Huter Special to the News & Record
LAFAYETTE, La. -- The lightning struck. The lightning struck again. And when the weather and the Louisiana Lafayette offense had subsided, N.C. A&T found itself on the short end of a 48-7 in the Ragin' Cajuns home opener.
After a 45-minute weather delay because of lightning, the Aggies fell victim to a pair of lightning quick scores by the Cajuns playing before a crowd of 15,401.
The Aggies were able to pick up a quick first down on their initial possession and after a five-yard burst by junior tailback Chaz Truesdale faced a second and 5 at the 37-yard line.
From that point there were few highlights for the visitors until a fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Wayne Campbell to Andre Garth of two yards.
Lafayette's Jason Chery blocked N.C. A&T's first punt and teammate Johnny Felders scooped up the loose ball and returned it 23 yards for the game's first score five minutes into the first quarter.
After managing only five yards in three plays on their next possession, punter Lee Woodson's 33-yard effort gave the hosts good field position at their 36. In eight plays the Cajuns advanced to the Aggies 10 behind the running of sophomore Tyrell Fenroy.
Fenroy, who last year became the first 1,000-yard rusher in school history, carried the ball on four of the eight plays and gained 40 yards.
"He is a great back," Aggies coach Lee Fobbs said. "He does a really good job of following his blocks and moving the ball north and south."
Fenroy finished the night with 104 yards on 14 carries and did not play in much of the second half as the Cajuns led 34-0 at the intermission.
With the ball at the 10-yard line another 30 minute weather delay followed after several lightning strikes.
After the delay, the Aggies showed some life on defense and forced the Cajuns into a decision on fourth down at the 2-yard line. Refusing the field goal proved to be the right move as Lafayette quarterback connected with Cory Frederick for a 13-0 lead.
"We really felt like we could run the ball on them," Fobbs said. "But we just weren't able to maintain our blocks. We'd get a little room and it would disappear before we could get there. Give them all the credit their people up front on offense and defense are very good."
Lafayette improved to 1-2. The Aggies dropped to 0-3.

I think Fuerguson was held out of this game mainly for precautionary measures. Hopefully he will be able to make an impact when we face NSU. Right now, he appears the only legitmate rushing threat we have on our roster.

I doubt very seriously that Fuerguson is the answer this year. This is a weak azz team in desperate need of an off season weight training program. Just suffer through this season because you sure as hell don't get stronger as the season goes on. There isn't anything good you can say about this team because the team is losing badly. Fellow Aggies, please don't make the mistake of looking at the time of possession as a sliver of hope that the offense is getting better. Western Carolina had the ball 7 minutes more than Furman and lost 42-7. Gardner Webb had the ball 5 more minutes than App State and lost 41-6. I just pray that no player gets injured in this hapless season. I think Fuerguson was held out of this game mainly for precautionary measures. Hopefully he will be able to make an impact when we face NSU. Right now, he appears the only legitmate rushing threat we have on our roster.

Actually, the offense appeared to move the ball better than I expected against ULL. We got first downs on almost all of our first few drives and at one point we even had 1st and goal from the Ragin Cajuns' five yard line, midway through the first half. Of course we blew that opportunity and came away empty-handed, but I still think there is a glimmer of hope that we can have a very productive offense before the season is out.
The defense on the other hand is a lost cause.

It's time to put more people in the box and force teams to pass. Regardless of the outcome. It can't be any worse. Instead, we went to a 3-4 front in the 3rd quarter. P.S. It's ironic that you titled this thread "wrap-up". Have we done that yet?

So is it time to start thinking about basketball season? I like both of your qbs...Still think Mcnair will be the rb at the end of the year...but there does not appear to be a big hitter on your defense...well maybe .....Antonio Johnson will be it one day soon......watch out for dt Carter in a few weeks
