wow! with those kind of stats, i can't believe he didn't get any other scholarship offers. my goodness! dude averaged nearly 11 yards per carry and runs a 4.48 forty! he must have really wanted to come to a&t. he probably could have picked almost any fcs school that he wanted since he didn't have to worry about being offered a scholarship. and with his numbers, any fcs school would have accepted him for free. wow. looks like our future at the running back position is in very good shape...

Wow how does a kid like this go unnoticed in a major football metro like Meck. CO.
Is there really more very good football players out there than there is scholarships form all levels (Div. 1, II, NAIA) ?

maybe he knew all along he would be getting a scholarship from olympic and took his time deciding where he wanted to go to college. that's what leads me to believe he hand picked a&t.
the article says he can't "receive" an athletic scholarship but it didn't say he couldn't be "offered" one. unless olympic plays a powder puff schedule or he's injured or somethin', then i've got to believe he received offers from other schools. being selected all conference, all metro, and all county tells me dude is not a fluke. but maybe he turned down other schools because a&t is where he really wanted to be. at least i'd like to think that was the case...

There are not too many bad teams in Charlotte and Olympic is pretty good against good competition. This is a kid who could have easily gone anywhere he wanted among fcs schools.
Of the film I found on him, he was a wingback in a wing-T formation with great hands out of the backfield and is a wicked change of direction runner and was their "go to" guy when they needed a big play.

man, i'm blown away! we've got 3 or 4 major stud runningbacks in this recruiting class! 1 or 2 of them may have to redshirt. but the future at the running back position is extremely bright!
now, the big question is, what are we gonna do about the o-line? we've gotta get that fixed and fixed fast...

From the inside - The kid was most impressed with our new coaching staff, the campus (its large and new but has old school charm), our academic diversity( he's got brains in the classroom, his academic record is off the chart), our athletic and living facilities( no comparison), a chance to play early, his parents liked us (the "bigee" for everyone we signed), and our new chancellor (now a huge plus).

and you know what else could have been persuasive? i know its for the regular students, but that new fitness center is the bomb! and i'm sure it impresses any athlete that passes through it.
that new fitness center is a huge plus when it comes to recruiting for all sports!! that indoor track is sweet! we should have no problem at all recruiting track athletes...

Any of you Triangle guys know anything about this young man ? I found this on USC ( South Carolina website gamecocks.com) posted 6/15/09. This guy is a 3 Star recruit.
Quarterback Gabriel Henderson (6-0, 189) of Raleigh is hearing from Clemson and USC. He has offers from Kent State, Buffalo, Western Carolina and North Carolina A&T.

Yeah, I've seen Gabe play a couple of times. He is better than average but he will probably be a "Athlete" and not a QB at the college level. I should see him in a couple of 7on7s by the end of July. I'll give an update on how I think he looks this year. He's been the starting QB at SE Raleigh since his Sophmore year, so this is suppose to be "His year". Hillside made him look mediocre in the playoffs last year.
