This thing about kindle playing WR..let's be honest Kindle came from a program that put more kids in the NFL than any in the country, granted that write-up was in '05 but nothing has changed. I'm just hoping we get more guys from Westlake High in Atlanta

At the very least Kindle needs some competition. It speaks volumes that a kid could show up and pretty much be head and shoulders above the qbs we have on campus (and have had on campus for years) in one half a season.
I've always been against a qb-driven offense because frankly, it's hard to get enough good ones on campus to take over in case of the loss of one. But if we're going to go that route, we need to upgrade the position.
That being stated, what happened to the last qb we brought in from Richmond County? I'd be more concerned that 1) he goes to SC State which clearly has us beat in the wins department right about now or 2) he comes here and we don't see him past November of his freshman year.

(I think we need some more help behind Kindle) Behind Kindle?!?!?!? Wiley will run and throw circles around Kindle and any other QB on the team....... Lol, everyones a superstar in high school. If he's all of that we wouldn't be able to get close to him.

This kid wants to play aganist his brother, Kindell would have to move to WR if Wiley comes... A 6' 3' 190 QB that has smashed all of Mike Thomas passing records wants to come to A&T why pass that up..... If A&T was looking ahead (recruting wise) they would have seen Wiley coming... He will be the best QB since Hooker... its hard enough to believe we're in position to pickup a qb that's better than kindle, but to believe kindle will have to resort to playing wr is stretching it...

Wiley is no stranger to A&T. My friend has been bringing Wiley and his teammates to A&T basketball games the last few years. My friend is not on the high school coaching staff. He felt that the HBCUs were getting shortchanged and the players who weren't blue chippers were left to their own device with the last head coach at Richmond Sr High.
I know that A&T did not have a strong connection with the headcoach at Richmond Sr High. You know how it goes, mostly the BCS teams get returned calls. Two years ago Richmond Sr. High got a new head football coach. Maybe Coach Lee will make a connection with this new coach.

I've seen Wiley play for two years straight, I've seen A&T QB's play for the same amount of time...... Wiley is better but you are right he has to prove it..

(This thing about kindle playing WR) If Wiley wins out would Kindle be happy playing the back up role? I know I'm ahead of myself.....

i'm not convinced wiley could come in and outright take kindle's job. i haven't seen wiley play, but i can't even find anything on him at rivals. however, i have seen his brother play at scsu and his brother is a tremendous running qb. but i haven't seen him in the pocket, reading defenses, and throwing accurate passes while under pressure. however, by season's end, kindle proved he can do that. its just hard for me to imagine a freshman can step in and just take kindle's job. also, bare in mind that kindle isn't a bad runner either...

As freshman he took over the starting job from a QB who lead App State to their first national football championship the previous year. I am still amazed that App State headcoach did just that 4 years ago and got two more national championships.

I was thinking about that as well. It was Brenton Smith back in '05. Never played for us and doesn't look like he played for anybody else...

Actually, Richie Williams won the National Championship his Senior year @ App State & went on to play in the Canadian League. Armanti Edwards took over for Junior QB Elder during the 2nd week of his freshman season & went on to shatter all of Williams records. Lewis is the future and all the chips were put in him when they started him against top 25 ranked FAMU & SCSU. So I dont understand why u all all all over a guy that balled out in hs while Lewis has begun to ball here. We finally found a consistant QB & now u want 2 start ALL over?
Well....there's goes ANOTHER coaching staff!

I have been told, the fb staff is recruiting an qb. They are looking for someone to push Kindle.
Maybe this Wiley kid is the one if he is as good as dj98 says.

Thats not going to happen unless we recruit a kid similar to what USC recruited last year as there QB.
Kindle will be our starting QB. But I agree with Dooms we need another QB who is just as talented as Kindle to step in and still win games if he goes down. That's what championship team do build quality dept in every position.
