To no one’s surprise, Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School welcomed in a host of college coaches to its campus during the Evaluation Period, to see about a couple of their highly regarded prospects in, A.J. Cann and Justin Henderson. However, there were also a number of college coaches lined up to check on this 2010 sleeper prospect from out of B-E.
The Evaluation Period brought in a host of colleges to Bamberg High School to check in with elite prospects, A.J. Cann and Justin Henderson. However this sleeper prospect from out of B-E had his share of visitors as well. We are talking about 2010 MLB/FB prospect Javonta Middleton.
Javonta currently checks in at 5-11, and weighs around 215 pounds. He reports a 365-pound bench press, and a 500-pound squat. He also reports a 4.6 in the forty and a 32-inch vertical.
After having the opportunity to watch this young man on film as well as in-person, we simply feel that Middleton has a legitimate shot to play on the next level. And apparently a number of college coaches feel the same way. I guess that explains why several of them were lined up to check in with B-E product on last month.
“A lot of schools came by the school last month,” Middleton said. “East Carolina, North Greenville, Georgia Tech, Appalachian State, North Carolina A&T, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, and South Florida. There were a few more, but I can’t remember who else right now.”
As you can see, there are a number of schools in the mix early on for Middleton. But however, a few of them have showing him more love than the others. “North Carolina A&T has probably been showing me the most interest out of everybody so far,” Middleton continued. “Actually, I think they are about to offer me. The Citadel and Georgia Tech have been showing me a lot of interest too.
