If so, I think he will thrive under Asberry's tutelage. That guy just flat out knows how to coach quarterbacks.

Naw, he was a freshmen on the second championship team(2006), plus he didn't play after our game last year, so there may be a medical reshirt year added.

Speaking of players transferring to Shaw, Quentin Korey DB who was recruited by Small out of Dudley H.S. is now playing for Shaw. Quentin played for Small his freshman year but he quit the team Fobbs first year due to a problem with one of the coaches. He tried to rejoin the team after apologizing but was not allowed to rejoin. Ouentin stated that it's a possibility that Jamal Edwards RB (Florida State) will play for Shaw this season. It's not a done deal with Edwards but he is suppose to have one more year of eligibility left.

Edwards was reported to be going to Catawba last year, but somehow that fell through at the last minute.
The clock is ticking on his collegiate playing career.

Does anyone know that if a player is out of school for 1 year (or more), does that affect their years of eligibility? Like in the case of Edwards mentioned above, if he was not enrolled in school last year, then enrolled at Shaw this year, would he lose that 1 year of eligibility?

I seem to recall that our former AD stated that in D1 your eligibility is exhausted within 6 years of enrollment.

I thought Edwards was in the mountains somewhere He should have come to A&T in the first place! Yep. Or atleast went to UNC. I have never understood why kids go to FSU. The over recuit RB, WR, LB, CB every year. They all always bringing in a top 5 kid at that position. At some point, he should have asked, whats the deal? I knew he would never see the field when Booker said he wasn't going pro
