Good:- He gave Bibbs a salary extension and significant pay raise
- He re-assigned Dee Todd
- Increased the football budget by $300,000 last season
- Hired Wheeler Brown as athletics director
- Came up with that Cosby Kids plan
Bad: ? This is all I've been able to come up with so far. You guys add to it.

Bad
Told graduating students that wanted to act like coons not to act like coons. Didn't drink with the co-eds. Had the personality of fried chitlins.

Good: Gave money to the band and had promised to give more for next year. I felt he was starting to get better with the way he delt with people (personality wise).
Bad: I feel the BOT should have let him finish out his contract before letting him go. I'm afraid the band will suffer from lack of money and scholarships due to his departure. The next chancellor might not care about the band or the football team the way Battle did. If there are any other reason under bad I guess we will have to wait until it leaks out.

Some of the Good: 1) Worked to increase admissions standards to the university. (Also a push from General Administration) 2) Secured additional funding to high achieving students in the form of the Dowdy Scholars program. (Which added hundreds of students to the Honors Program this year) 3) Worked to create an exclusive articulation agreement between GTCC and A&T 4) Worked with GTCC and the Guilford County School system to create a mentoring program than spans PK-20 (Pre-K through 12, Community College and University) ...and there are other things
The Not so Good: 1) Lack of a strategic plan for his tenure as Chancellor, or a direction to send his senior administrators. 2) Lack of stability/continuity in Senior Administration. For example, after 6 months no naming of a new Provost. 3) Slow development of people skills. He has gotten alot better than he was when he first came, but has a long way to go.
....and there are alot of others. However, I would choose not to disclose them on the public board.

That's what we have a BDF private forum for.
Spill the beans.

I don't check my NCAT account often. But this was the message sent out on 3/3
Dear A&T Family,
In light of my resignation from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University , effective June 30, 2009, I will focus on moving the following projects:
o the University's reaccreditation process; o finalizing a new strategic plan; o the ERC; and the o Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering with UNCG.
I will also assure that all current employment searches continue to move forward in order for my successor to be able to move quickly to fill several critical administrative positions on campus.
Thank you,
Stanley F. Battle Chancellor

The thing about fried chitlins is that the end result may be desirable (to some), but it's a little rough to work thru the cleaning and the stench that you have to endure before you get there.

You clean yours?
Heck I figure if they're fried there's no point in cleaning.

This type of conversation is probably why Battle decided to leave.
