now that we've loss a game, the best we can hope for is the 3rd seed. That would be like winning the tourney for this team. I mean, that's all I've been looking for, for like 4 years.

Scoring only 2 points in 9 minutes is tough for anyone to overcome. I know Nickelberry was sweating bullets. lol. He's fighting for his job in the worst way. I sat behind the HU bench and that man coached a hell of a game. If he gets fired, we need to find a spot for him on our bench sorry professor, i have to disagree with ya on this one. maybe he had one good nite coaching against us, but this man's team was expected to finish second in the conference. yet, they're sitting in 7th place with a losing conference record (7-8) and a losing non-conference record (14-15). he arguably has the second most talent in the conference and his team has "severely" underachieved. he's a great recruiter but a horrible head coach. he'll find a job somewhere else on someone's bench as an assistant, but not as a head coach...

Heck, all we need is a seasoned number two that's a great recruiter. That's all Prof was saying. I don't think he was saying he should replace Eaves, but rather that Eaves could use him as a top assistant.

I wonder if Nickleberry would be a great recruiter if he did not have a top notch facility ? I am not knocking his recruting skills just asking a question. But on paper he has the best rated players (coming out of high school or Jr. college) than any other MEAC school including Morgan
But at the end of the day if Nickleberry gets fired he will end up as a assistant at ACC , SEC or maybe Atlantic 10 school. ahhbigboy's right he has alot of connections; and any of the above schools would pay a whole lot more than we will pay an assistant b-ball coach.

Say what u will, but I watched this man coach his team to a victory when they were down by 16. Watching how people do things tells u alot about them. Nickelberry is a big deal.

Exactly professor, i'm not arguing your point but i've watch him coach several games and i'm not impressed. he shouldn't be losing to teams like coppin and a&t. in no way should his team be below .500 in the meac. i just don't think you can base a coach's ability to coach on one game. you've got to consider his entire body of work and to be in 7th place in the meac with arguably one of the most talented teams in the league, if not the most talented, does not speak well of his coaching ability. maybe he could help us as an assistant. but do you really think his ego would allow him to sit on another meac team's bench as an assistant? and do you think he could continue to attract the same quality of recruits if he plays in corbett versus hampton's convocation center? i'm just sayin'...

No way. He was probably advised from every angle not to take the Hampton job. Getting fired would probably be the best thing that happens to him. I like Nickelberry a lot so it's been hard for me to see him struggle, but he's gonna get the ax. His calling is to be the number 2 or 3 on a major's bench. That or a used car salesman because his talk game is unbelievable. You used to have to remind kids that they weren't going to play for the Lakers, they were going to Clemson! lol
