James Dunwoody, who headed the Aggies women’s and men’s tennis programs for five seasons, resigned after the 2006 season. Dunwoody was replaced by Andy Smith, who resigned his post late last week after leading the Aggies women’s program for three seasons. Dunwoody returned and coached the Aggies in their Monday 6-1 loss to Campbell. On Thursday, Winnie Quick won her fourth straight match to lead the Aggies. Quick is now 4-2 on the season with her 6-4, 6-0 victory over Laken Joyce. Quick teamed with Danielle McCaskill to beat Asia Nelson and Dashawna Gibson 8-0 in doubles play. The Aggies took the doubles point by sweeping all three matches 8-0. “It’s hard to tell if we are improving because I don’t have a lot of history to go on,’’ said Dunwoody. “I know this is the best we’ve played since I’ve been back. I also know we can still get better. I’ll take the win. I like to win.” The Aggies are back in action on Saturday when they play Longwood 1:30 p.m., at the Aggie Tennis Complex.
