#24 Southern Illinois 2 North Carolina A&T 1
The Salukis squeaked out a 2-1 victory in the bottom of the seventh inning in Saturday's opener against preseason MEAC South Division favorite North Carolina A&T.
With the bases loaded and two outs, junior outfielder Katie Wilson lined a game-winning RBI single into left field to score Gorman.
Wilson's timely single helped erase SIU's two failed bases-loaded situations in the first and fourth inning.
Glosson picked up her third win and struck out at least one batter in every inning to practically silence the Aggies' offense.
Three out of NCAT's five hits also never left the infield.
The Salukis took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a RBI single by Gorman, which scored pinch runner Courtney Kennedy.
North Carolina A&T evened the score after an unfortunate bounced went against the Salukis in the ensuing top of the third.
With Yahamma White on first and two outs, Ashley Carter hit a spinning cue-shot to Garza at second base that bounced 90 degrees to her right.
White advanced to third and Carter reached first on the play to continue the inning.
Ryanne Hill followed with a first-pitch single to left field to tie the game 1-1.
From that point on Glosson only allowed two hits during the final four innings to give SIU its opportunity to win in the bottom of the seventh.

This team is really good! Go to a game whenever you can. They need our support. I stopped by the Elon game yesterday before the Winston game. I saw maybe Aggies there. Also, the ladies are really fine!
