MEAC vs CIAA challenge.
Kind of like the ACC/Big 10 Challenge or the Big East/SEC Challenge.
I think that would be killer. It could be like a little classic. I can imagine Morgan vs. Va Union and Del St. vs. Va State played in DC and A&T vs Elizabeth City and SC State vs JSU played in Charlotte.
TV, cross promotion and everything. What do you think?

Hellllll no! You think we've got a bad rpi now, wait until the CIAA gets through sweeping our teams.

Hellllll no! You think we've got a bad rpi now, wait until the CIAA gets through sweeping our teams. lol, the good thing though, is that RPI ratings don't matter for the MEAC anyway. No one is getting an at large bid from our conference for anything! This event would make some serious money....with the proper direction of course.

Makes waaaaay too much sense for this to ever happen. The only positive thing is that the CIAA office actually knows how to market their events so they might take the lead on this idea...

ECSU vs NSU is a better regional matchup, give us St Aug or Shaw. Plus, I think it would be better if it was eight teams two days (fri and sat) in one location. Two games each night.

Aggie 77, if everybody had to travel to the same city each year I think most schools would complain about the costs of gas and hotels, etc. Plus you would have to split the total pot of that weekend tournament about 20-some different ways.
We should just do it like the ACC and Big 10 have it now. This is not rocket science. Figure out the schedule to ensure that each school gets a home game every other year.
If anything, maybe you can schedule it to were all the regional teams have home games the same year so they can potentially have their games in the same venue - ie. A&T and WSSU playing in the Coliseum against CIAA teams on the same night or Shaw and NCCU hosting games in the RBC on the same night.
That is just one idea ...

It was kinda done in Charlotte a few years ago. I think it was A&T/NCCU/JCSU/VSU? I think that did OK.

I was thinking that the matchups should change from year to year to give everyone a equal share of the pot. I mean, can you imagine T vs St. Aut at 7pm and then SC St. vs. JSU at 9pm ................... in Charlotte? That's a no brainer. You're right Thrilla, that makes waaayy to much sense for it to EVER happen.
Sure is fun to think about though.

Here is my thought.. If you take away one of the pay games then it sounds like a good idea, as long as you can make tha same money,......On the other hand, I don't know many programs that play dII or naia teams in a exempt tournament, so if there were to be such a team, id suggest d-II play d-II and D- 1 play d-1 teams..
