A better question is "what duties have been assigned to her?"
You could have Albert Einstein in that position but if you don't give him clear goals to meet or an agenda to work on, then he is not going to be able to use his talents much.
Right now, I am not privy to what her actual job responsibilities are.

I don't see what the problem could be. You have: 3) An athletic director at A&T who has already gone on record and stated that his plan is to partner with other schools to create a big event. What is the draw back? And the group who manage the Coliseum wants it but not the UNCG coach.

Why not include the Ladies Basketball teams as well? Or do something similar for them. ;D

Curtis Hunter aggressively tried to get the local coaches to go for it but found no interest. Eaves, talked to the local coaches two years ago and found no interest. Now, I don't think Eaves is interested in a tournament. I believe the main drawback for A&T is the money issue. A&T's main question is "Can this tournament actually bring in top dollar that can replace a "money gurantee" game?" Well there you go. This shouldn't be handled at the coach's level. This is an AD/school president level decision. Eaves probably has a hard time getting a call back from High Point and UNCG. The local business leaders can make this happen. Make it a local television hit and market it as a Triad event. Greensboro city officials would push the heck out of it because of their relationship with the Coliseum. They would also have a heck of a marketing opportunity with HEAT (Higher Education Area Transportation). A lot of positives. No coaches should be "thoroughly" involved in the decision making.

I am sure none of the other schools involved have the kind of fan support our women's team has.
I don't think the coliseum would want to have those 4 extra games on the schedule (which equals to extra costs) if they aren't going to see a return at the gate.
I say just stick with the 4 men's games that weekend and promote the hell out of them. If the tournament grows in popularity down the road then you can add the girl teams.

I agree aahhbigboy. A top-down approach is more convincing.
Based on her recent statement, one could assume Brady would be a strong supporter.

jazz, why should a tournament have to replace a money guarantee game? I don't see where a sacrifice like that would have to be made.

jazz, why should a tournament have to replace a money guarantee game? I don't see where a sacrifice like that would have to be made. I agree but have you noticed the schedule pattern of the men's BB team the last two years? The home games are handpicked to ensure wins just like the major schools schedule HBCUs for sure wins and the away games are about gurantee money. So it is a balancing act between what the coach wants, what the AD wants, matching the opponents' schedule and scheduling around the school's final exams.

I believe there is something in the works for 2010-2011...UNC-G has something that they are calling a Triad Classic on their schedule for that year....

the athletic dept. needs the revenue eaves brings in... they are in no postion to jepordize that just because others want to make a killing of off us... you can believe no-one is approaching a&t because this is something that is great for a&t...!!!!!
how can a&t make money when... 1) the "dummy" is not going to get any money from parking... 2) the "dummy" is not going to get any money from concessions...
3) the "dummy" will hand us over half the ticket sales...
4) & we'll sell him "dummy beer" to boot...!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A&T tried to get this done but the other local coaches - UNCG, Elon and High Point - were not for it. Plus right now none of the BB programs are strong attractions even A&T isn't that strong of an attraction right now. hunter tried to get something like this started & the area coaches wanted no parts of it... now all of a sudden its a great idea... ?? the only reason its a great idea now is because someone other than us thought of it... which means... someone other than us will reap the rewards from it...!!!!!!!!!!!!!
