Due to the incredible success of the women's program at A&T, the men's team has been relegated to second class status. Even with the mens team's early season record, most people around here are still focused primarily on what Bibbs and the girls are doing.
Personally, I would prefer to watch the women play any day of the week.
What will it take for more fans like me to get excited about the men's program?

Winning! Winning cures everything. Thats what it will take. Me personally I much rather see the men play but I must admit that the girls or I should say young ladies have been very exciting to watch .

everybody loves a winner and after 4 consecutive years of "painful" football losses, i would think that most aggies don't have an appetite for anymore losing, regardless of what sport it is.
that being said, i think because our men were disappointing last year and because we loss so many key starters from last year's team, our "preseason" expectations for them were low. i think most of the fans will come back if the men continue to play well. and if they manage to remain in the top 3 of the meac, i think all of the fans will come back.
also, our schedule doesn't attract a lot of fans when we play the u.s. merchant marines and talladega college at home. and its kinda disappointing that morgan and coppin will not visit corbett this year. the only home games that appeal to our followers on this year's schedule are wssu, howard, hampton, and maybe scsu. if we're gonna play teams like the u.s. merchant marines and talladega college at home, why not replace them with teams like shaw or fayetteville state or even nccu? i think that would help attendance at the men's games a great deal...

Really good points oldeschool. And I have an answer as to why Eaves wouldn't dare bring those schools in. On any given year (because of the different rules on the CIAA level), one of those teams can bring in a smoker and beat us on our own floor in front of a big crowd. That's not a good look for recruiting etc, even though he doesn't recruit heavily in-state. It would be like what the ladies did to ECU.
I think one major reason that we love the girls so much, other than the obvious winning, is that we have some flat out ballers. Let's face it, Amber could play for UNC. On the men's side, we don't get flat-out ballers anymore. You know, Joe Bunn or Phillip Allen got you excited. You don't get that anymore in the guy's game. No one knows anything about the kids that come every year and when they get here, for the most part, they are average. As usual, just an opinion, but I don't think many will disagree.

Men's college basketball is not second class status to women's college basketball not even at A&T. It just seems that way to a few people or should I say a few people who want it to be that way.
When men's basketball team is not winning the fans simply stay away. The majority of fans will not come to see a women's basketball game only. The Lady Aggies have one of the best attendance numbers for women's basketball in the state but they are still hard pressed to out draw the men. For whatever reason the majority of basketball fans just don't get into women's basketball like they do for men.
There are a few Aggies who want to start some hate and discontent between the men and woman programs at A&T. Aggies fans of good heart want both the men and women to win. There are no reasons I can think of this year for the fans not to love both teams.
If you want bigger named teams in Corbett to play the men then you should address the issue directly to Chancellor Battle and Athletic Director Wheeler Brown See if they are willing to part with $50,000 or more each year. Secondly, there will be no CIAA teams in Corbett simply for your pleasure. Ahhbigboy will tell ya it is a lose-lose proposition for a coach trying to build wins. Don't worry, NCCU will soon be in the house in about two years.

It's early in the season. I guess the men seem to have been "relegated" to that second class status due to their inability to win very many games these past five years. However, now they look like they have a chance to win many of their games, and I don't believe it is an aberration (at least I hope not). In January the students and city fans will start coming out. Corbett should be rocking.

Don't confuse this board's discontent with the actually numbers of butts in the seats during conference play last year.

This thread (IMO) is not really an issue of any consequence. Our draw will be fine and this team will be more than competitive and the big surprise in the MEAC by late January.

What about playing schools like Elon, High Point, APP ST etc in Corbett? I know it's probably been talked about already on this board but I think a renewed series between UNCG / A&T would be good for both schools if both programs are decent at best.

Hey thrilla how bout you only come to the women's game. As soon as their game is over take your a$$ out the gym and leave . That way you don't have to watch the men play. But everytime you walk in the gym you are late to the women's game. If you hate our men's team so much why do u sit in front of Wheeler Brown And watch the game. Come On Now! Whats Your Excuse For That?

Why do you all get so emotional over someone else's opinions? That baffles me.

;D
I'm warming up to Jerry's Kids. My expectations were low due to player turnover. This team appears to be more cohesive than last year. I plan on making two trips to see them this year.
