My take-for now. >A&t shot 61% FG in the first half. We had this team making turnovers. > This team got a little home cooking during the first half, with some calls. > We could not stop their 3's. >I think Ed had our first 7pts. He ended up with 23. It's good to see Ed going again. (6-11 FG) & 4 - 6 in threes. > Our turnovers did us in. > Tavarus is coming into his own...He had a 15pts 4 assists. ========= Eaves seems to be using the road to develop the bench. Everybody got at least 5mins. It even began in the 1st half. And it seems that we trapped all game. Maybe we are trying to get the turnovers out of or system before the league play. ========= This team is doing what we thought it would do. so far...( a different high Man each night) December will be an exam for a Aggies.

aahhbigboy, Eaves got a tech because of the reffs. ( I believe He was outside of the coach's box) Even the announcers noted the home cooking & said that 'we'll take it" more than twice.. A lot of calls were suspect. But hey....its the road. The Zips got back in the game during the first half...made a run..& then we tied it at the half.. Well we are 5-4 heading to the "Green Wave".

I wish those mofo's would come back to Corbett again. The last time they visited back in the 80's we had a dunk fest!

Eaves stays getting a tech, but he was probably getting it bad in there. It's hard to get 25 turnovers against a team that isn't even pressing like that. I guess they said we aint gonna pay you 55K and give you a bus and let you sniff a win too! lol.

aggiebornandbread Wow I did not realize that. I'm not trying to start anything, but we need to beat teams like this...as a league. The Mid-American has Miami- Ohio , Ball State...ect. This Akron team is at the top of their league....I give them that. But with 26K students, their Gym is like ours. I was about to say that they are a clone of A&T, but it is a bigger school. 2200+ was at the game. We are still a young team. Coleman had a bad game. We have come to know that we must be balanced...at least, in order to beat schools like this. We pressed or picked up full court all game, from what i can tell. A good team with guards/ coaches will figure us out, and hurt us. Near the end..7 mins left, when we needed a run, they got easy baskets. Defensively, we were "packin it in", per the announcers. The key, to me, is to try to take away their strenght., even if a "box in one" is tried. they had one guy have a big night. Some one else must be put in the position to "step up" for the opposition...or "to fail" because they are uncomfortable....ie with turnovers or misses. ========= December should show this team a lot of things. We should also surprise some teams.....which we have. But the foes should adjust at the half, if that have a coach...an they have. The Coaches of the MEAC knows us. They will be ready for our schemes. Now that Ed has jumpstarted, lets see what happens. We got caught in this 'zipper'.

The last time they visited back in the 80's we had a dunk fest! akron used to play us home & home in the 60s when we were d-2 this would be the type of home gm you would want to play for the kids right after exams... play akrons men & womens team... make it an end of the semester festival... you could have a battle of the chearleaders... dance teams... & if akron has any step teams invite them also... i like akron because they did come here in the 60s... if the administration won't go for a basketball homecoming event in febuary... then get mcalphine drumming up sponsers for this...!!!!!!!!!!!

PJ: The truth of the matter is that the refs had to take the game into their own hands because we were within 4 points of them with 11 minutes to go the game. Anywhere else and we win the game.

AS you stated he did not have a good game but every time he attempted to get to the basket, they bumped him, grabbed him, pull him and he lost the ball most of the time.. That was half of his turnovers

you would want to play for the kids right after exams..............A game like that right after exams...how many of you stayed around after you completed exams? Hell, most people complete their exams before the last day. Cost of keeping dorms open? It would be nice to get the Zips here, but you want it to be with the dawg pound at full strength. The friday(saturday) after exams end will not work.

The friday(saturday) after exams end will not work. maybe you're right... i was just thinking... if you give the kids something to stick around for... like a big basketball festival... who knows... maybe they might take to it... your points are well taken... but answer me this... how would you pull off a homecoming type festival for bball.. & if you could pull it off... when would you have it... ?.... keep in mind that dowdy would be scared to death to have it in winter time because of the unpredictable weather...
