Hey Fam, I went to the game... OK crowd. Our defense is good. I would love to see the stats for the turnovers. I think Coleman had two blocks. We have a balanced team. Nic may have been the high man but all around, we were playing good. I dont think that we are 30 points better than NSU, but our defense wore them down. Deloach/NSU had a good game & the Brother can jump! But our inside/ outside game gave us open shots time after time, and the bench played well. NSU made a run, but could not get it under 20. The Aggies had a sweep with the Men/Womens teams.

How many players are in Eaves' rotation?

I looks like 9. Nic, for Julian or any of the forwards; Duane; Marc for Tavarus;& Kam for Coleman. This team almost had 100 points. And all of the bench got some time to shake off the dust. NSU trapped and pressed til the end & we had a few turnovers late. Otherwise we could have had 100 points.

For the stat geeks: When was the last time we won a conference game by 27+ points?

We made this team look like the "merchant marines" at times. Our traps made them put the ball in the wrong hands...& made them try to dribble in traffic. They had 21 turn-overs. But Deloach/NSU can ball. He would beat his man but faced trouble inside each time with Coleman. Coleman had 10 rebounds. Coleman was doubled by NSU a lot, otherwise, he would have had a double/ double. Tavarus had a nice game....un-forced points 6 assists... all of that.

How was the attendance?

The attendance was sparce. The top tier was weak & the bottom was ok. But I must say, the crowd came to see the Women also. I wanted to see the team with some home-cookin before they hit the road again. We changed defenses after time outs, we rebounded well, and fought for every ball. This team is starting to click. It is still top heavy with jumpers to me. We need to have more Brothers shooting floaters, or that in-between type shot a little more. Ed can jump. I think that I saw him get a rebound & he gathered, took one step and dunked it! He still needs a break out game.

This is my last post for the night. >This team has balance. >Everybody can't be off on a given night. We will not know who will be the high Man on a given night. > Tavarus is playing good ball. Eaves goes small at times & we are still ok. > The bench will help a lot this year. > This is not an 8th place team! > Man I want to see A&T make some noise...

Sounds pretty good... disappointed with attendance, though.

PJ, is being kind to NSU. This team has height and talent but lack team chemistry, a leader, and the discipline to contend this year. Though Deloach scored a 20+ point most were not in flow on the offense. I guess that's the difference of not having Tony Murphy. But I wasn't that impressed when I saw us at NSU last year, when I proclaimed that I our team of seven seniors wasn't a championship team.
I was pleasantly surprised by the men's team yesterday. In my opinion last year's team was the best team (talent) Coach Eaves has had. This team is by far the best balanced team to start the season in a long time. Balance in scorers from all positions, veterans and newcomers, balance in height, balance in starters and subs, coach is even more balanced in bench demeanor.
The way the MEAC is shaking out in the preseason, this team can get to the championship game. My only issue is that our "bigs" play below the rim especially on offense. We defend the post better, the point guards control the pace and can score, we make a decent number of 3's from positions 1-4. This team is better than the projected 8th place, but they will have to stay hungry.
Why wasn’t there a story in the New-Record, for a home game?
