delete this thread as soon as you like moderators, but I just found this North Carolina A&T: Sources tell FootballScoop that North Carolina A&T is very interested in hiring Southern Miss assistant Frank Wilson as the new head football coach. on this site www.footballscoop.com/?cat=24here is his bio southernmiss.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/wilson_frank00.htmlI know wilson personally.....my wife is from new orleans and her brother played for him one year at perry walker....he also recruited my brother inlaws best friend to old miss when he was there....I had wondered what happened to him when houson nutt came....he landed at southern miss he is a great guy and a great great recruiter....I cannot speak to what he has done in college, but he was a great high school coach.....his perry walker teams were real tough he is also a great recruiter...dont believe me? check out ole miss roster right now...anc see how many players from new orleans and baton rouge are on it....he recruited all of them I am not advocating wilson get the job....I actually think there is a better fit out there that is not on your list here.....and I hope that he doesnt get added, cause he would really turn the meac out....but i digress of the names you guys have here, I think wilson would be the best...he is loyal, and very energetic....he would expand your recruiting and turn things around....he owuld also bring in a great staff

No offense, but dude is a rb coach at S. Miss. I doubt very seriously if we take that chance again.

So someone thinks we should hire a younger version of Fobbs? You got to be out of your mind!

He has a carbon copy of Fobbs' resume at 35 years old. This is a flat out phony rumor.

Yes this would be a bad move. Aggiejazz is right his name might as well be Fobbs. We need someone who can recruit North Carolina or has a solid base on the east coast. Most recruits want to be in driving distance from home.
You can take a established Coach from outside the area in basketball since you usually only bring in 2-4 recruits per year( I.E. Coach Bibbs). Football's a different recruiting animal; since you are probably bringing in 10-15 kids per year.

He appears to be a good guy and I hope he is able to get his chance at head coaching somewhere, but the similarities between him and Fobbs are too great for our fan base to ignore. He may very well be the exact opposite of Fobbs but I don’t think anyone here is willing to take a chance after what we have endured the past 3 years.

stateclub, you should tell your boy that if he's looking for a new job this isn't the way to go about it.
