Last week bluedeathvalley.com issued a call for fans to come out and pack the Dawd Pound on Nov. 21 for the women's game against Elon. As a result , the game drew an estimated crowd of over 2500 who watched the Lady Aggies steamroll Elon 90-60.
This was possibly the most electric regular season women's basketball game ever played at Corbett. I will go ahead and take 100 percent of the credit for the turnout.
Even on a cold night when there were several high school playoff games going on around town, and without the pep band and Blue Reign, the atmosphere inside the Dawg Pound was great. I especially like the announcer we have for the women's games. He has a lot of energy and has cool nicknames for all our players.
This was one of the best times I have had at an A&T athletic event in a very long time.

job well done, thrilla! in my book, you deserve all the cred! that attendance will certainly help coach bibbs and the team continue to recruit tremendous ballplayers.
i think one of the reasons bibbs decided to sign a contract extension is because of the dawg pound and the outstanding fan support at a&t. not too many mid-majors, in fact not too many major d1's can attract approximately 2500 fans to a women's only game. our fan base is "hungry" for a champion and if promoted properly, this thing could blow up!
now, my only fear is that the athletic department might think all of those folks came on their own and that there's no need for them to promote this team. that's my fear.
nonetheless, you deserve a lot cred! you may not know it yet, but this web site may just turn out to be the crown jewel of aggie athletics! you've made tremendous contributions to aggie athletics and your impact is indeed appreciated!

Well, as far as the Elon game - yes, that was all me. Nobody else but BT. Me, me, me and More me. Our administration did everything in their power to keep the game off people's radar last week, but I would not be denied.
However, as far as BDV.com goes, that is a total team effort. Craig Turner and the Click are the true heroes around here.

The Athletic Department, I'm sure, knows that most people would not come out in freezing cold on their own fruition or last minute whim. I'm sure that they appreciate ALL of the marketing and promotion efforts of all of the athletic programs, be it through BDV.com, campus eblasts, diehard Aggies, or their own marketing efforts- afterall, didn't Thrilla say he heard the Dir. of Marketing was doing a great job?

You'd be surprised what a fan base will do for a team that is the only one doing some real winning. Our ladies are fun to watch. In my opinion, we have above-MEAC talent and people will support that. I didn't hear anything about the game anywhere and that is terrible.

That is terrible. If it wasn't for us, most people would not have even known a game was scheduled last Friday.
That should have been the the front page story on both the main A&T website and the ncataggies.com site. They should have also been hyping it up all week on 90.1

Must be right. I'm not a social networker, so I would've gotten it there. Do we do ANY kind of television promotions. Where are the billboards? Where are the T-shirts? We've got a GREAT thing going here. Why isn't it the pride of East Greensboro, at least?
