How would this year's squad match up against the legendary J-Settes from JSU?
I saw them in person at the Peach State Classic in 2001 and my mouth is still watering.
This has been a breakout year for GD, but like my man Moose A. Moose always sings on the noggin channel: "are we there yet?"

we aint there yet. Golden Delight looks alot better now, they dance on the field better and their dancing in the stands is better....but The J-Settes set the standard along with the Dancing Dolls of Southern University. Guys break necks to see them and many dance lines copy what they do. The J-Settes auditions are open for the public to see and alot of people show up...They really have a following. Golden Delight if they continue down this path will have that type of following that the J-Settes have

I can agree to what has already been said...
Golden Delight is on the come up this season. This squad has made great improvements from previous years; but lets pace ourselves before we ask is GD ready to be the undisputed champion of HBCU Auxiliaries...Lets Start With The MEAC Crown, For which I think GD is a Solid Contender for especially this season. Like Ive stated before in other forums; GD Has Been Smashing The Competition This Year
Lets Break The Season Down So Far:
They Ripped WSSU's Scarlet Lace To Shreds
They Melted NSUs Hot Ice
They Extinguished Hampton's Ebony Fire
and Showed NCCU's Eclipse THE LIGHT
When it comes to MEAC (or possible MEAC) competition...Golden Delight in wreckin' shop...I just wish The B&GMM were going to Daytona...
I mean a Golden Delight vs 14K Showdown is worth making the trip alone...

Their styles are different, but I would put GD against any group in the country because they are more dynamic and versatile that any other group that I have seen (I saw the J-Settes a few weeks ago) The J-Settes have mad energy, have great dance moves and formations (and did I mention sexy too?) but they are on the field for about 60 seconds during their feature. You will see GD throughout different parts of the show twirling flags, ribbons, flaming batons, etc and dancing, lots of movement, different looks, formations, etc. Very dynamic, creative, well designed performance. And did I mention that they are sexy too?  To put it in 'thrilla terms', the J-Settes are like a wide open west coast offense, but Golden Delight is like a great triple-option attack, with all its opposing direction and movement, which is a thing of beauty for someone that appreciates what he's looking at. But hail, both groups are sexy as hail and I could watch em both all day any day |

I can agree, The J settes have Madd Energy both on the field and in the stands...
GD is known as the most Versatile Auxiliary in the HBCU community but since A&T is not playin' many classics theses days, GD is not getting as much visibility outside of You Tube...I would love for The B&GMM to take on more sWACK bands so we can see some killer match ups like GD vs the J settes, SUs Dancing Dolls and even Tx Southern's Motion

Yeah....GD has Motion in the looks dept. some reason sWACK d-lines be pretty out there when it comes to uniform choices...granted I love the class and style MOST MEAC lines show, aint nothin wrong wit a lil skin sometimes ;D

I don't understand why yall obsessed with dance team? Dance Teams ? HAHA Get REAL...Everyone knows Dancers are CHEER LEADING REJECTS, LOL, Why do you think there tryouts are always AFTER Cheerleading tryouts?? HUh, yep REJECTS! We CHEER AND WE LEAD...YOU DANCE, BUT YOUR JUST A REJECT?
