www.bizjournals.com/triad/stories/2008/09/15/daily17.html?surround=lfn&brthrs=1N.C. A&T University will hold a grand opening for the new Financial Trading Room in its School of Business and Economics on Sept. 25. The room features 32 dual-monitor workstations, two large screen display boards, an electronic ticker and an instructor workstation. The goal is to give students a place to “observe the interactions of market concepts and behaviors through simulated trading analyses,” according to an announcement of the event. The Financial Trading Room will also be made available for use by local public schools, the school said. Also on Sept. 25, A&T will kick off its new Closing Bell Speaker Series with guest speaker Joseph T. Wilson, Jr., managing director of Citigroup Global Markets in New York. The series will bring top business leaders to campus to speak on a variety of issues, the announcement said. More information about both events is available at (336) 334-7846, ext. 4029

I know a lot of people have had problems with the way Renick did things when he was here but he was instrumental in helping to make this trading room possible. Dr. Craig has invited Renick back to participate in this grand opening. Are some here at A&T starting to warm back up to Renick???

Excellent!! A Financial Trading Room and a Closing Bell Speaker Series. I hope they have speakers that aren't of the vault mentality only (save and hold, dollar cost averaging) and presents a diverse philosophy of trading strategies as opposed to investing. Like trading the psychology of the market, trading the direction of market to make money in both bull and bear times and application of the technical indicators to determine entry and exits points. This is a great opportunity, I hope the room is packed 24-5 trading on Hang Seng, DAX, trading futures, commodities, etc.
