After publicly announcing a new program that would funnel students who did meet all of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University's enrollment criteria into Guilford Technical Community College in July, the partnership is proving to be rewarding.
North Carolina A&T State University recently awarded 49 scholarships to students that will now begin their college career at GTCC.
Under the partnership program, students would be identified who did not meet the four year university's criteria and then referred to the local community college to earn an associate's degree. Once completed, those selected students would be given automatic admittance to N.C. A&T.
To boot, A&T awarded scholarship money to assist students with their GTCC education in the amount of $1,000 per individual.
Students who received scholarships are: Murtada Abdallah, Clement Addo, Joshua Amaya, Brandon Bell, Shaketa Berrie, Katie Billings, Christopher Bulmer, Elonda Burson, Kyle Clapp, Christopher Cox, Kenneth Crawford, Natalia Dalton, Brandon Dixon, Aboubakar Doura, Joseph Elliot, Justin Gage, Stanley Gonsan, Latisha Hairston, Mark Hallman, Brett Handshaw, Rashida Haney, Courtney Howard, Robin Hyler, Danuel James, Courtney Jefferson, Milton Jordan, Agnes Kwankam, Amy Lomax, Erica Love, Tyler Madden, Razakou Maman, Jason Marks, Emily Mayer, Ronnie Melvin, Susan Morris, Atif Mustafa, Adisak Mawik, Anthony Nevius, Mansoor Pasha, Jagruti Patel, Kristin Rouse, Dorothy Siler, Jeffrey Staley, Karen Townsend, Cameron Ulrich, Fabian Villalba, Jamie Whittington, Lakeisha Williams-Purcell, and James Wynn.
