I know it was against JCSU but when you haven't won in 2 years, it doesn't matter who it is against.
People who were at the game, how good is the 2008 Aggies? Think we can get 5 wins this season?

JCSU just straight up SUCK so its hard for me to judge how good the Aggies really are. I'll be able to say after we play WSSU next week. But I can say that our secondary is garbage, the passing game looks better, and I like the combination of Mike Ferg and Dione McNair. The WR's were decent. Byrd had a crazy one handed catch at the begining of the game

The Future didn't get a chance to get off tonight but he almost decapitated a JCSU defender on a down-field block. That's how you finish a play.
And yeah, that catch by Cedric the Entertainer was a top 10 play of the day nominee. Thing of beauty
My man Herb looked like a right-handed Steve Young. He threw the ball with great velocity, played smart, went through all this progressions, and even sailed the ball out of bounds when there was nothing open. Trues got a lot of explaining to do.
What a difference a real OC makes.

0ffense - B Good QB play (except still not protecting the ball when running) Good running Good blocking Good catches What's with the 5 or 6 bad snaps Good play calling
Defense - C Good line play (rush defense) Poor secondary play Lack of pressure on the QB
Special Teams - C Without the two blocks this would be a D Decent returns Poor coverage Short kick-offs
This is what the margin of victory should have been.

The grades start next week. This week I'll just enjoy the victory!
P.S. It IS obvious that Herb has been coached up.

We did what we needed to do against a CIAA squad - jumped on them early, executed well for a opener and blew them out.

We will lose four or five games this year directly because of special teams if this unit does not improve.
Those short kickoffs will result in TD returns against NSU, Hampton, FAMU and SCSU. You can not let the opposing team continue to start drives at their own 45.
Also, we still do not have realistic chance of making a field goal over 35 yards. However, Houston is money on PATs. I guess we should just be grateful for that at this point.

Herb Miller doesn't even look like the same QB (in a very good way). The offensive line played well and mostly penalty-free. The problems in the secondary are more-related to scheme and not talent. We can fix the schemes. I left the game hopeful that we could win 5, 6 or 7 games this year.

It looks like some of those short kickoffs were done on purpose, b/c he knocked a few down to around the 4 later in the game. They should have come out of that 2-deep or whatever they were running b/c JCSU had some folks open, they just couldn't catch.

No, he knocked that kick down to the 4 yard line because JCSU got called for an unsportsmanlike penalty on the previous touchdown and the ball was moved up 15 yards on the ensuing kickoff.

That was when Cosby scored that TD and the JCSU players ripped his helmet off in frustration.

Hey all, overall I think the Aggies did exactly what we had to do on Saturday night. Minimze mistakes until the 4th quarter and play a smart. The kicking game has to improve to win because good teams starting at the 35 & 40 yard line will kill us. Good job Aggies!
