NCCU and WSSU entering the MEAC?A&T stands to gain the most in my opinion with 2 games that will almost always sell out in football and basketball.I think it will be good for HU and MSU since there are a lot of NCCU and WSSU alums in the BW area.Do you think it will help our bball tourney?

WSSU travels well and have a loyal fan base. It should help the tourney especially if the teams, namely ours, are competitive.

You're on point heretic. There's no real plan in place at NCCU like there was at WSSU to make such a move.

AD Todd spoke to the Charlotte Aggie Alumni Asso. this past Wednesday and from her comments she mentioned that it would be at minimum 5 years before Central could be in the MEAC.

Winston only lose to Wake by 4 last night 88-84 and was only down 1 at the half, they are instant contenders in the MEAC in Football and Basketball.

They (WSSU) may be contenders in basketball, but football is a different story.
The addition of both is great for us from a fan support and travel cost basis. Both should generate decent revenue numbers.
If NCCU makes the announcement as expected on Nov. 16th, I don't know why D. Todd thinks it will take 5 years to become a member of MEAC.

I think D. Todd is talking about the 5 year probationary period before you can contend for the MEAC championship.

I don't know...you could be right da1andonle, but maybe this is new now. I do know that WSSU is gonna have to do the 5 year thing as well as anyone else that comes in now.

The reason its going to take Central 5 years is because they have to add several sports which means they have to raise a ton of money in order to meet the minimum number of sports to be considered a D-1 school. Thats why the set the process up for 5 years. It has nothing to do with when they will contend. And as for Hampton.. guys you gotta stop comparing Hampton to the other schools in the conference. They have the largest endowment fund plus as it relates to talent.. You guys gotta remember they can recruit NON qualifiers.. because they are a private school which means the guys that we have to lay off of they can bring them in and sit them a year and have a superstar.... Central is a few years away from the MEAC but best believe Winston will be in the fold next season..
