Congratulations to A&T's own Wilfred Billingsley who has signed with the NFL's Miami Dolphins ...Word from Florida is that Billingsley turned in multiple sub 4.3 40 times and was beyond exceptional in all of the defensive skills and coverage test. Renowned football guru Bill Parcells handpicked Billingsley himself. Stay tuned for more info as it comes in .. www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/flash_content.asp

Right now he is the top story on their website. That's pretty cool.
I wonder if he played arena football since leaving A&T.

I don't know, but I almost owe Japan an apology. I still know dang well he ain't running 4.3s into a 40 mph headwind, but he must be running them somewhere. Tuna has a pretty good eye for diamonds in the rough (unlike a certain h.c. in Greensboro).

No arena ball. How can a 3 year starter not hardly see the field for an 0-11 team his senior season ? Thats the only question I want answered.. How many other kids dreams have been taken away b/c of politics ?

Billingsley played safety under Hayes and Small, Fobbs tried to play him at corner. He started out slow his senior year due to his trying to adjust to a new position. They should have kept him at safety.

He actually looked good at corner last year, if you looked at his position and that alone. THe times our db's got beat was due to being in the wrong coverage, not lack of talent or effort. Do you know how hard it is to play db, have to make 70%+ of the tackles b/c teams are always breaking off 8+ yard. You have to remember that our secondary was pretty much coaching themselves back there and making their own adjustments due to us not being able to stop the run and not having a decent game plan ...

I'm around this staff alot and don't get me wrong I want this thing fixed as bad as you guys. Playing the game is not all that it takes. I promise you this -- If his attitude is like it was when he was here "THE BIG TUNA" will be shipping his A@@ back to Greensboro.

I had my share of knuckle heads moments when I was in my 20s. People can mature.

ConcerendDogg,
?? Attitude .. Please give or tell me in one instance did the kid not do everything asked of him in the most humble and respectful fashion. In fact, Billingsley was one of the most well spoken, mannered young men to come through the program. He was consistently one of the teams best academic performers, involved in his church ministries, served the community through his fraternity on campus, and engaged with a tutorial program with a local middle school. The kid never failed a drug test, never disrespected any of his peers or coaches and is the kind of person that every coach would want and need in their program.
Please give me an instance when he has been disrespectful or not done the things asked of hiim to do. Good things happen to good people.

Joffa, there was one incident at the end of Billingsley's senior season when, let me say personalities clashed to put it mildly. Billingsley also did not play in his last game against SC State. Of course all hell broke loose after the game. If I am wrong please let me know. But let by-gones be by-gones but I know Daddy Billingsley is proud and probably would like to choke Fobbs with that signed Miami contract.

Jazz, you are wrong. Billingsley didnt get into an argument or have any "personality" issues during Fobbs tenure. Billingsley didnt play that SC State game because of "coaches decesion", aka Fobbs inability to judge talent and to put the right people on the field.
All hell broke loose because of the unprofessional actions of members of Fobbs staff not that anyone else.
