I will say this, the "Tunein Radio" App worked extremely well. I was able to listen to the game on my phone without any interuptions or problems with the signal being buffered.

i met to mention this last week but i forgot. i listened to our aggie football radio broadcast crew while in greensboro for the vul game and i swear, i honestly don't believe it can get any worst. my goodness! i mean, we all luv these guys because we know they bleed aggie blue and gold. but man, they sounded terrible! downright embarrassing. if ever there's a contest for college football's least professional sounding radio broadcast crew, that's a contest we will "easily" win by a landslide. even some undergrad students can do a better job than our current crew. i mean, i appreciate our crew's dedication to aggie football and their "long time" service to a&t. but at some point, their services will do more harm than good for our football program and the overall "perception" of a&t academics. people, its time for a change. yes, we should honor mel, spencer, and the guys for all they've done for a&t over many years. but its time for them to pass the torch to a new younger and more articulate crew. seriously...

I understand everyone's point, but I think this form of broadcasting will be phasing itself out soon enough, so I NO LONGER(and I did support a change previously) see a need for a change just to make a change. They are dedicated Aggies, so let them finish up their stint with pride. The video webcast will soon be on everyone's phone, TV, and any other device connected to the internet and radio broadcast of ANY game will go by the waste side. I'm fine with them heading up that transition until radio broadcast of live games fade away.
It will happen as soon as advertisers see the benefits of advertising on an app/browser over advertising on the radio.
What I would have a issue with is if they switch them to the internet broadcast if/when radio starts to die.

It will happen as soon as advertisers see the benefits of advertising on an app/browser over advertising on the radio. What I would have a issue with is if they switch them to the internet broadcast if/when radio starts to die. as usual, i disagree. folk in their vehicles on game day don't access the internet. and, not all people use the internet to listen to aggie football, especially older folks. besides, we don't even webcast every game. the "easiest" and most accessible way to listen to the game is by radio and radio ain't going away anytime soon. if anything, radio is "expanding", not fading away. i have sirius xm satellite radio in my vehicle and i listen to it every day. a lot of college football games are broadcasted by satellite radio which can be accessed anywhere in the country. in the future, there will be more sports on radio, not less. trust me, soon the day will come where you can access any radio station in the country by satellite. it's just a matter of time. radio will always be there and that's why every vehicle sold has a radio in it. a driver can't watch the internet while driving and it'll be a very long time before every vehicle has internet access. so i don't think we can afford to wait this thing out. our guys try hard, but trying hard is no longer good enough. when people hear a school's radio broadcasts, the quality of that broadcast has a direct reflection on the school. what do you think outsiders think of a&t when they hear our football announcers on the radio? those announcers represent our "public voice" to the general community and right now our "public voice" is not a voice that most of us can be proud of. i swear, i'd be so embarrassed if i knew folk from other schools heard our broadcasts. our annoucer's calls are inaccurate, their pronunciation of words are gawd awful, and they sound like they're broadcasting from the local barber shop. no, we've waited long enough. its time for a change. do it with dignity, but do it...

I refer to our radio announcers and the "Amos & Andy" show. I refuse to listen to them, no matter how bad I want to hear the game. They are awful. I have asked several people in the administration why we don't replace these guys and all I've gotten are blank looks. I even asked someone in the athletic department that is responsible for helping to promote sports why these guys are still around and he said Hilton was aware of the problem. But he said Hilton felt it was a political mind field for him to get rid of them and he had bigger and more important issues to deal with.
Let me be clear, these guys not only hurt our image in the community, I think they hurt our ability to bring in fans and money. With a professional crew more people would listen to the games and they would tell their friends and family. That may create more excitement and buzz in the community and more people may come out to the game. (Not saying that would happen but there's a higher probability with a "decent" radio crew) And with a better crew and bigger audiance, we could get larger sponsors. I run a consulting company and I would be embarrashed to have my company associated with that broadcast.
Now you might not buy my larger fan base or more sponsors argument but if you are a true Aggie, you want to show our best to the world. And this radio crew is far from our best. Here's what I'll ask you...would you tell a recruite or future student to listen to that broadcast? If you said "no" then why are these guys still representing our great university?

imma tell ya the truth. i swear i wouldn't be surprised if these guys have either read this message board, someone told them about it, or they've heard complaints in other places. but based on what i heard during the vul game, they didn't sound very confident in themselves as if they're aware of the complaints from aggies.
they sounded insecure and unsure of themselves. in my opinion, they haven't always been as bad as they are now. i just think age has caught up with them and their skills have severely subsided. somewhere on this thread someone suggested simply hiring a new "play-by-play" guy and let the rest of the crew do color commentating. i could live with that as long as the new guy sounds professional...

That's probaly the most admirial solution is to just have a new lead. you are correct oldschool - radio sports broadcast are growing --- satillite radio has breathed new life into radio. In addition you cant watch a video if you are driving so there will always be a market for radio.......even if we are all flying UFO's 50 years from know LOL

The bottom line is that Central is our arch rival and we are dramatically losing the arms race to the Eagles in the area of sports marketing and communications.
In college sports you at least have to keep up with your arch rival.
I thought the plan was for Donald Ware to take over the radio broadcast this year, but I guess something happened over the offseason to change that.
