Getuprams, you know good and well that A&T is the creator of the single greatest cheer in the history of cheerleading:
"Go Aggies, Go Aggies, Hey Hey"
When your community college comes up with something as legendary as that, holla at me. Better yet, say it to our face. *snicker*

LMAO @ this statement......Getuprams, you know good and well that A&T is the creator of the single greatest cheer in the history of cheerleading: "Go Aggies, Go Aggies, Hey Hey" Poor Poor Thrilla, do you honestly think A&T is that creative, please WSSU has been legendary in stomp-n-shake for 20 years, a very unique style of cheerleading that is OFTEN inmitated, and bitten off of.........Just so you know GO Aggies "HEY HEY" is another WSSU original ripped by A&T.....The original cheer goes a little something like this,.......... Some people don't like the way that,
SU rocks, uh uh, GO SU, GO SU, GO SU, HEY HEY!
Some people don't like the way that,
SU rocks, uh uh, GO SU, GO SU, GO SU, HEY HEY!Please get on our level in originality! POWERHOUSE, SURVIVOL, GO RAMS, DO IT, ROCK, SHAKE EM UP, are also classic cheers that can never be duplicated. youtube.com/watch?v=zJTyU8P6AZA&feature=relatedyoutube.com/watch?v=fPuaoMeGwGI&feature=relatedyoutube.com/watch?v=AwjmylxCrcI&feature=relatedyoutube.com/watch?v=L6haFL-537Y&feature=relatedyoutube.com/watch?v=zt7r66kltCc&feature=relatedyoutube.com/watch?v=GyRaRAge3PE&feature=related

Likely story. We were doing that Go Aggies, Hey Hey cheer back in 95. I'm sure it was performed at A&T before then, but that's the first time I personally heard it.
WSCC has never created something that A&T later used.

Rams, your squad would get blasted by a good high school squad, y'all look like Rec League, Pop Warner, PAL cheerleaders that don't have the athleticism to do stunts so you do stomp cheers like basically every black high school in America.
I'll admit I don't know much about cheerleading but our cheerleaders do a better than decent job of blending ol' school black cheers and mainstream white cheers. Why are we even arguing... MEAC CHAMPS!

AggieMike are you serious? Obviously you know NOTHING about cheerleading in particular black college cheerleading, the RAMS will out cheer any squad in the NCAA including the big dogs such as Univ. of Kentucky, Univ. of Louisville, USF, NC State , Clemson(Hell those schools only have 5 cheers anyway). WSSU has the most athletic cheers and most complicated dance sequences in the MEAC by far, have you actually seen them in person? You must be in top shape to keep up with all the stomps, shakes, arm and hand movements in our routines. WSSU is not just stomp-n-shake, they incorporate traditional cheer leading moves, such as straight arm movements, hand motions, into our cheers. LMAO @ not having the athleticism, hmmm we have the most athletic cheerleaders in black college cheerleading . Umm every squad in the CIAA and MEAC does stomp and shake??? They just can not do it as good as WSSU who are by far the best at stomp-n-shake, it's our traditional(HBCU) style. Competition cheerleading is hardly our style, yet we stepped out of our comfort zone and went to the MEAC and placed 2nd in the first every competitive style cheerleading competition in school history. First of all, EVERY squad in the MEAC would get blasted by a good high school, especially my very own high shcool that has won 8 NC state championships and 4 national championships. The level of difficulty at the MEAC Champs was a Level 3\4 at best, no squad in the MEAC is anywhere close to being at the collegiate level, which is level 6(IF you wanted to see collegiate level cheerleading you should have went to go watch NC State practise). Since when couldn't' WSSU stunt or tumble? Oh thought it was WSSU could only do stomp and shake? Yeah whatever, we did that routine with 12 freshman\sophmores. I'd hardly brag about winning the MEAC championships with a flawed routine, which wouldn't' have won at any other competition in college nor high school, the MEAC doesn't properly judge cheerleading competitions. In general MEAC competitive style cheerleading is WEAK, I would rate the competition a D+, we have a long way to go. Which is why black schools should stick to our own unique style of stomp-n-shake, instead of attempting to be like "white colleges" like A&T\SCSU and looking ridiculous doing high school level routines, then trying to talk smack? Please if you could only hear the things my associates who cheer for ACC\SEC teams think about those routines. Oh and you stated any high school squad would blast WSSU, well I could say the same thing about marching band. High Stepping marching is so high school, you can't march in a straight line, you can't play "True" music, and good corp style high school marching band would blast the Machine. Exactly, it's the same thing, how can you criticize stomp-n-shake cheerleading for being "ghetto", yet not criticize "High Stepping Marching band" ?

Oh and thanks for the respect Thrilla , but I guess I should inform you that A&T during the mid-90's had a former WSSU cheerleader serve as a coach, and if you know anything about your squad this is when A&T developed it's stomp-n-shake style, so there you go! "Some don't like the way that" is a WSSU original Hey don't worry you're not the only team to bite WSSU, everyone does. I just hope, next year the Aggie cheerleaders don't march into Corbrett to "Get UP" in a single file line and joining in the center of the court. LOL

Let's not get marching bands into this. You have some lifelong musicians and marching band veterans on this thread alone. You REALLY dont want to go there.
You talk about how good your squad is and how horrible MEAC squads are, but you lost to AT LEAST 3 squads overall. Who knows where you really placed since they only announced the top 3 overall. You are really starting to sound....less than informed, shall we say. Give it up, you lost, better luck next year.

As a grown man, should I really KNOW anything about cheerleading? Seriously.
I was just talking trash, trust me, I've come to terms with the fact the a MEAC championship in anything is basically crowning the best of the second class. As far as band goes, I've never been a HUGE fan on the Marching Machine but I give them credit for their dedication and I will give YOU the same credit but you might want to get your squad to be as passionate as you cause right now nothing about WSSU cheerleading screams "We Care"

Truth I enjoy speaking with you, you're the only one with any experience in spirit teams. Trust me, it's best for the AGGIES to stay at home, even if that routine was executed perfectly(Which it wasn't in the MEAC) it would not advance out of the prelims at any UCA\NCA competition, heck it wouldn't even beat alot of high school teams!!! We have a long way to go in terms of competition cheerleading though, btw SU is hardly a traditional cheerleading team, competition isn't there main focus, and they did a damn good job with 12 freshman\sophomores\juniors at the FIRST competition in SCHOOL HISTORY and placed 2nd!! They actually had a cleaner routine than A&T, SCSU and NSU. Anyhow, congrats, but this all just makes the next cheerleading battle more exciting right? lol i have no cheerleading experience at all... i just wanted the ladies at both schools to get recognized for their hard work... that's why cheering at corbett & the annex was so important... maybe next yr. with the right radio hype someone with some vision can pull it off... i mean what's wrong with giving folks a little extra for their money... you paid to see a basketball game... but you got a cheerleading competition & dance team competition on the side... more bang for the buck...... shoot me for thinking.....................

i was flipping through the tv channels this morning & ran across the WE-tv channel... & what do they have on the tube... none other than a show called cheerleading u... focusing on central florida the defending national champions... as they prepare for the nationals... this program shows how important cheering is with the major schools... it's huge...!!!!
getuprams i agree we are behind the major schools in the stunt department... but training in the proper facilities where hbcus can focus on precision we can catch up.... but the major schools know they can't do what hbcus do either... elon cheerleaders would marvel in admiration when they were near our cheerleaders... i even read one girls lips when we were doing cheers on their side... when she said "i can't do that".... !!!!
i don't worry about critisism from the acc because most of it is from jealousy... they can't do the routines you see at hbcus... plain & simple...
even their dance teams which i think are good at what they do... but they are all clones... if i see the dance team at arkansas i've seen the dance teams at elon.. uncg.. unc.. uconn.. etc.. etc.. because they all do the same thing... they all do the same routines...
it's hard to do what hbcus do & those who laugh at hbcus know that... they only laugh to try & make you think what they do is so much better... & it's not... because they all do the same thing... the exact same thing...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The squad that started "Go Go (school name) hey hey" was a High School in Greensboro in 1992. Smith High School. In regards to the competition, then some girls and the male coach went to A&T and did a camp. Some high school squads can do some of those stunts. I saw alot of people fall and it did not look safe.

I ment in regards to the chants.... about the camps. Cheers get used everywhere because there is no copyright. Either way if it is going to be a competition there should be some changes made because like I said... a lot of squads went home with some trophies but most went home with some leg braces, arm splints, headaches.
