I've been watching a lot of basketball over the past few days. The one thing that I've noticed is that A&T has as good or better facilities as most other D-II schools. With that being said , why can't we get better talent. Or , is it that we don't get out of our athletes what other schools get out of their players? After swing FAMU,SC STATE,HOWARD,HAMPTON,and even now,UNC ASH we should be a dominating force or at least on par with the Patriot League.

I get your point...we should be getting better talent.
But, for the record, we are NOT a D-II school. Since we are in Division I, our facilities should be better than ALL D-II schools.
And I think that we have better talent than those in the Patriot League.

I stand corrected, but why aren't we competing with the likes of George Mason,VCU,and schools of their class?

For starters George Mason's coach makes just a tad under $ 500,000 a year.

Neither is our budget, I'm guessing.

you need the resources to scout talent & scout places where no one else is looking... our mens bball budget is more than half of del st.... if kevin sampson was here.. he'd blow his recruiting budget on phone calls alone... judging by how he likes to talk to recruits...

i think the coaches are in place here in all sports except football where there is a wait & see... if "space" had a couple of pole vaulters who could jump a basketball goal the women would have won the meac indoor... so that means he is probably 2-3 scholarships short... sball.. mamie is doing a good job with very little... shumate has put together a good program with very little... bibbs & eaves have built good programs from the ground up...
i find it hard to understand why someone in the dowdy building is not trying to find these coaches the resources to put a&t athletics on the map... being that alot of their stupid decisions has taken alot of money away from athletics..
i guess what i'm trying to say is... it's time for administration to lead by example & show the aggie nation that they are serious about elevating aggie athletics to the top... then i think the masses will follow...

Stop talking about "the administration". The people you are referring to are gone!

I'm not impressed with Patriot League in B-ball either. Just like I'm not impressed with the MEAC. The MEAC seems to be getting stronger(In my opinion) with more emphasis being put on gettting the tournament more exposure and a good venue.
