N.C. A&T's leading scorer suspended 1 game From Staff Reports Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 1:21 pm GREENSBORO - Steven Rush, the leading scorer on the N.C. A&T basketball team, has been suspended for one game by Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Commissioner Dennis Thomas.
The suspension came for unsportsmanlike conduct in a Feb. 18 game against Delaware State, according to a news release.
Rush will not be allowed to participate in N.C. A&T's game against Winston-Salem State on Saturday.
"We respect the conference's decision," interim N.C. A&T Athletics Director Wheeler Brown stated in a news release. "We have talked to Mr. Rush and he understands the decision and therefore is looking to put the matter behind him quickly."
What Happened?

I think it was because he elbowed a player in the eye after grabbing a rebound. The player reached around him to get the ball and slapped his arm. Rush then spun with the ball in both hands and gave him a "get off me" elbow. No foul was called and play continued but the Del State player went to bench for medical attention but returned to the game.

If they didn't call a foul, then supend the player, then the officials should be reprimanded in public as well.

I am just glad that WSSU is not a conference game. I think we will still win. Look for Nelson to have a big game
