We will need someone who can score "inside out" next season without Ed Jones being around anymore. He and Witter would be a nice combination to offset that loss, both in that 6-7 or 6-8 range on the wings with a decent outside shooting touch and can finish when down inside.

Wow. 6'8" to 6'9 in the Raleigh/Durham area (tons of colleges) averaging 19 points, 5 blocks, and 9 rebounds.
No one else offered this guy? I wonder why. He has a CJ Penny type feel to him.

I can't answer that and maybe he did not grow an inch after his sophmore year but that would be hard to imagine. Look at the bright side he is in a basketball hot bed the triangle area and he is an east / west allstar and averaged close to 20 points against strong comp.
I am going to take you back aways there was a guy who played for Corbett - ruffly 88-92 Dana ? (cant remeber last name) He was from Yanceyville and was the 3 AAA player of the year but not heavily recruited. He was a good player for us maybe Penny thats type of kid who has the potential to be a great player. Its no way the basketball minds in Kentucky are that clueless to name this kid as allstate and he does not have Div I potenial. In addition I think Penny is in the running for Kentucky player of the Year (not the favorite but in the running)

But it's kinda easy to go unnoticed in Yanceyville in 88. It's impossible to go unnoticed in Raleigh in '09. Even at 6'6", tons of schools would be all over him. The only schools that offered him are over an hour away and both programs haven't proven they really know how to get it done. The East/West game is political. That only means his coach knows somebody. I just can't figure out why no one would want this kid. Just like Penny.

It looks good. I don't deny that. But I'm just wondering out loud why no one else wants this player. What's wrong with asking this question? He's 6'8", averages 19, 9, and 5 blocks and is within 20-30 minutes of Shaw, St. Aug, Central, NC State, UNC, Duke, Durham Tech, Prysbterian (I think) and ECU and no one has offered. I am just curious. Is that wrong? And Coach Price at Dudley is probably #1 active winniest coach in the state............AND HAS NEVER COACHED IN THE EAST/WEST GAME. Eric Hicks had almost 1000 points in a season at Dudley.....and didn't get picked for the east/west game. Doesn't that sound a bit political bruh? You don't know what you're talking about.......again.

You don't know what you're talking about.......again. Shaw mostly recruits Juco kids and Central had a coaching change. Duke, State and UNC very seldom recruit kids in the state 90% of there rosters have kids from out of the state. Plus if this kid did not play AAU ball could be a reason he got over looked You have the nerve to say Durham Tech.LOL!! I am from Durham and that is funny. Honestly we do not know who all has offered this kid except for us and Elon. Elon's new coach came from Davidson and they have some good players that fell under the radar. Stephen Curry for example Just a thought

ahhbigboy,
Ok I agree that East West Allstar Games can be political. But there is a fine line between who gets in and who does not. For a state like NC with a high level of basketball - You can make a case every year for some kid who got passed over.
The point is maybe there is somebody more deserving but you are not going to see a dud in the East West Allstar Game. It's like having the inside tract on a job interview. You may no some one on the inside but if you can't put a sentence together nobodys reccomendation is going to help you.
No Coach is going to politic for a kid that cant ball; because that would make the Coach look bad among his or her peers.
kids get passed up all the time and slip through the radar screen. Thomas "Ice" Griffis did not have any offer out of highschool either thats why he was playing in Moore Gym with me. We all know he was a great player with a high basketball IQ and if given the chance he could have probably played anywhere in the state of NC straight out of a Raleigh, NC highschool.
On a lighter note aahbigboy not sure if you have kids but if you do. Will you be sending them to Coach Eaves basketball camp ? SMILE

Nope!!! sounds like you dont have enough information to make your statements. Dig deeper!!! There could be several reason why hasnt coached in the allstar game.
Nope!!! sounds like you are very quick to make a judgement and an opinion about a situation just to prove your point. Dig deeper to found out why these things didnt happen!
Give us the information that shows its political. Its not enough to say it didnt happen so it must be a conspiracy. Everything is not black or white.
