Good!!!!! From what I have heard about him he is a loose canon. He belittles his players, holds vindettas against certain players and in general is a morale buster. Most of all, he did nothing to improve the offense. Coach McNeil did a better job with younger and less exerienced players last year. From what I heard, the firing came not from Small but from the top.

Yeah I received a call today and I was going to post it but I had a doctor's appointment, so I couldn't break the news, but it is true. Coach Berry will call the plays. Although I don't like to see anyone lose their job, in this day and age winning is everything for collegiate sports, especially when you're asking people (alum) to support your program.

I Hope Berry understands that we can't run our backs into the ground. We mst have balance 50-50 or 60-40 run pass. Last game the balance was 80-20 run pass. We won the game but we still are running our backs into the ground.

Dj,
the run/pass ratio wasn't even 80-20 last week; 6 passes/52 rushes...that's about 90-10. And, no, since he's small's homie, he don't comprehend offensive balance. He gonna do whatever small mind tell him to do.

So a man is fired and the first thing we say is the man to take his place wont be able to do it...Coach Berry will do ok...he worked this past summer with the Chargers...learning there off. system...You will see some wringles i think and the play calling wasn't 90-10 it was was about 70-30...we were sacked, Watkins ran a few on pass downs, and he checked off of some pass calls...so those count too....then in the fourth quarter we were up so why would you pass the ball and stop the clock with the way the defense was playing...run the clock and take the win....that's football 101....

and another thing...Coach School did a good job with the guys off the field...we brought energy and an edge to the offense that we didn't have last year.....we were getting the job done but the players believed in him...he worked hard with the QB's spending alot of time trying to get them to understand the system...even when they didn't get it right he would yell but then go and stop everything to teach them the right way to do it...the things he did were larger then what we saw on Sat. and this move will hurt the guys more then it will help them win...i hope the players don't see this as the adminstration packing the season in and calling it a lost cause and the players doing the same...cause a move like that has to mean that they don't see a chance of the team winning....also this says that at the end of the season we will be looking for a new staff....cause anyway you look at it...they are either going to fire them or they are going to be looking for a new job....an any coach that comes in here is crazy cause like a women if they cheat on the guy before you what makes you so speical that they wont do you the same way.

60 total plays: 52 run, 8 pass 86.67% run, 13.33% pass (to be exact)
I dont care how great a coach is. There are certain things you just cant do as a coach. Knute Rockne himself may have gotten fired for doing similar things.

you need to go back and look at the tape then...cause there were about 15 more passes called that were converted into runs....so the % would change...so try 38% to 62%...sounds about reasonable with most of te runs coming after we had the lead on the last three drives of the game which then would change the ratio again...
