Despite unfortunate and devastating injuries (Phillips, Jackson, Watkins, Glenn, C. Jones), the Aggies managed to come out of the preseason 2-2 eager to jump into the MEAC season. 4th string quarterback Adrian Moye proved his is a gamer and a competitor this past weekend against elon. he's going to give you 110% every time he takes the field.
After going 2-2 in the preseason, the Aggies are now ready to embark on their journey to defend the 2003 MEAC crown and Norfolk State is the unlucky first challenger.
N.C. A&T has had great success against Norfolk State in recent memory. The last time A&T lost to Norfolk State was 0-6 in 1989 (A&T finsished 5-6 that season) the second under the leadership of Bill Hayes. A&T leads the all time series 24-5 (winning last 9 games).
During the 9-game win streak the aggies have outscored the spartans 296-84. (the two teams dnp from 1993-97).
This game of the season is normally when we have a strong offensive performance, usually from our stable of RB (i.e. Mo Smith '99-4th & short turned into a 30-yard touchdown untouched, Hicks '01-19 carries on 75 yards and one touchdown but the Aggies scored 29 points in first quarter., Scrivens '03- only 57 yards rushing but four touchdowns.)
i think the running game will really take off this week with the o-line getting more work in with speight (who just reminds me of hicks how he hits the hole). i think micheaux may be best fit out of the backfield in the flats or just for little 5-yard dump offs for moye.
like the article in the news and record stated... small put moye into a situation where they ask him to not lose the game. this kind of parrallels the baltimore ravens a couple of years ago with trent dilfer; he was nowhere near being a prolific passer but he did not lose the game for the ravens. with such a great defense behind him and a strong ground game, he only needed to make a couple of plays per game. we are in a similar situation... micheaux will come around... speight will be the change of pace back, that can dominate the second half of the game after micheaux pounds on the LB's for the first half.
ive got faith that we will find ways to win this season it wont be pretty but we will put w's on the board
Its time to repeat
