Worth repeating:
Don’t forget everybody that’s interested in Aggies Basketball doesn’t live in Greensboro.
I'll try to make it to the exhibition.

Nope. I'm not going for the jedi mind tricks this time. I dont care if Eaves likes practicing in the wee hours or not. If you are seriously trying to promote this upcoming basketball season, your intra-squad scrimmage needs to be held at a time when most people are likely to attend. I don't see why that is such a hard concept to understand. John Chaney at Temple used to hold his regular practices at 6 am but you can be damn sure Temple's fan friendly events were held - (drum roll) - when fan were most likely to attend.
And as for me, I'm not going to this little pre-dawn event on Saturday, I'm not not going to the home opener on Monday and I'm seriously considering boycotting the entire 2007-08 season.
For the past year and a half I have tried my best to become a A&T basketball fan and get excited about this program, but I am getting no help from my university. Everyone knows my first love is A&T football. Hell, I even went out and bought a digital camcorder earlier this year for the sole reason of creating some youtube videos for the A&T basketball program.
I am just trying to be a fan, come out to the games, spend money, cheer loudly and feel good about A&T basketball. So then why does this university try everything in its power to keep me uniformed, unexcited, and unmotivated to continue to follow the team?
We have already suffered through two years of winless football and now when it finally seems like something good might be happening in Corbett we get no Midnight Madness, no preseason media blitz and a blue and gold game thats scheduled when most people are just about to head out to biscuitville.
What ever happened to that novel idea of giving the fans what they want?

If it was doen at a resonable time that would be a great oppurtunity for recruits to see what "aggie mania was all about for bball and vball. hell I might even stay for the vball game or at least part of it.

I'm not sure if many of you buy season books or not, but they have changed it this year. You have to have contributed 1K or more to the Aggie or Victory club to buy the season card this week. 1K or less will able to purchase it next Monday (isn't there a game on Monday, wow). Everyone else will be able to purchase a season pass on Nov. 12. I got my letter today, but I actually bought my season cards yesterday. They will only allow you to purchase 4 at a time, just like football. Just thought you might want to know.

Thrilla,
Fully FUNDED programs usually give the fans what they want because they have the resources to do so. I think you SHOULD boycott the entire season.. I certainly wouldnt want you to end up sitting beside me at a game.. Your funky a$$ know it all attitude might seep over into my seat. Please boycoytt the season for all of our sakes who could care less about the whining and *itching.. You cant even wait for the basketball season to get started and youve already found something to fixate on.. Let it go.. I do recall Aggie Mike saying that he knows they they attempted to do a midnight madness but it was met with opposition. Why is it so difficult for you to realize that athletics on this level is not like the Houston Rockets. They dont make the policy, they dont decide whats going to happen, they dont operate in a vacum by themselves. Campus police didnt want to do the event, ticket office didnt want to do it, physical plant didnt want to have anybody on duty.. ( all of which have to be in place to have an event among other things) but of course you dont care about that because YOU want what you want.. RIGHT....?? Right.. ?? I say you can boycott the season but youll be the only one.. Noboby is gonna co sign with you on this crap.. at least im not.. Im ready for the season.Ill be there saturday, monday, and every game after that... oh yeah.. why dont you mention to Jerry that the fans want him to change his practice time... since all youre trying to do is be a fan.. He might change it to a time thats more suitable for you..

Well, I know I don't want Coach J.E to change the teams practice times, but the B&G game should be at a better time!

Boycotting may be a lil extreme but Thrilla is dead on point! What would it hurt to change the time of one practice to build excitement for the team & season? Eaves praised the fans last season for their support of the team through "thick & thin"............soooo wouldn't a 4:00 blue & gold scrimmage be a good way to thank them? Also we don't exactly have the most exciting home schedule around so any opportunity to promote the team should be taken advantage of.
I think I will buy my season tickets today and I'm considering donating my seats to the Dawg Pound.

Why are we playing Montreat at the Greensboro Coliseum? Is it part of a tourney?

If b-ball aint your sport, that's fine, but Eaves got his team to think about. If the squad is used to practicing in the morning, so be it. Aint none of us bankrollin b-ball like UNC-CH, so it's up to Eaves. Man did the same thing last year, but we avg. twice the attendance than the conference. Make what games you can attend.

At least there are more people on here with good sense.. I bet basketball attendance will top last years attendance. Sooo looks like the lil tirade about the practice time/scrimmage time is wasted breath. Real fans/supporters dont throw a tantrum over dumb isht... I cant wait for the season to start... this year is going to be the year..

did any of you know eaves practices are open to the public... a lot of times things may seem out of order but what you have to keep in mind is that athletes at a&t have to schedule classes like other students... not like at major schools where someone is scheduling classes for the players & accomodations are made so the kids won't miss practice...
our sports teams have kids missing practices all the time because of class conflicts... coaches have to adjust practice times just so they can be sure & have a full squad at practice... roy williams doesn't have to deal with things like that....

thrilla: i see your frustration with our blind administration... i can't for the life of me figure out why mens bball practically has the same budget that corbett had 20yrs ago... we finally have a chance to be good at something but mens bball gets treated like a red headed step child & no-one gives a damn...
with people like the ones we have running the show i see why we suck at everything... DAMN..EVEN NORTH & SOUTH DAKOTA STATE ARE NCAA D-I CONTENDERS IN HOCKEY... WE ON THE OTHER HAND DON'T HAVE THE MIND SET TO BE CONTENDERS IN NOTHING............
we have coaches busting their a$$ for this school & they get no support from the administration... BUT IF YOU LOOSE A FEW GAMES... THEY WILL FIRE YOUR a$$....!!!!!!

Truthseeker, I follow what you are saying about the schedule for classes and practices conflicting, but the event that some of the folks are having an issue about is scheduled for a Saturday. As far as I know, A&T doesn't have classes on Saturday's, and if they do, there shouldn't be any athletes in those classes.
