Aggie Marketing Man I know you are already looking into it but please make it happen. I will volunteer my time to work the event if you need free labor.
I think Thrilla had the perfect suggestion on how to do it.

Its utterly ridiculous that we allowed this opportunity to slip by.
If there is any venue in the country that would be a perfect fit to host a Midnight Madness event, it would be the Dawg Pound.
This could have been a perfect way to get everyone hyped about the upcoming mens and womens basketball season and also launch a major season ticket sale.
The next time someone in our administration complains about the lack of financial support, remind them that they are not doing anything to cultivate that support.

Jaffe, this isht is pisses me off worst than anything that has happened on the football field this year. Our basketball program garners national attention primarily because of the home atmosphere. Why you would not want to showcase that and market it like crazy is a mystery to me. People now consider Corbett to be the hip hop version of Cameron Indoor stadium and you mean to tell me that you can't organize a simple Midnight Madness event? Just look at some of the comments for this video, comments made by fans all over the country: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5LodH9-N6wDoes anyone at A&T have any creativity or vision?

And to think, we could have gotten Maceo to perform "Go Sit Down" in person. He probably would have done it for a plane ticket and a one night hotel stay.
Imagine how hype the Dawg Pound would have gotten if Maceo performed that live.

Born, I agree! This should been one of the athletic departments number one priorities this semester, ESPECIALLY with the state of our football program. That "H*& Sit Down" Song when an opposing player fouls out has become legendary.. Would have been great to get some bball recruits in to witness that also, instead of bringing them to a 1/4 filled Aggie Stadium during football games, w/ ppl talking all kinds of isht in the stands and leaving after halftime...
Maybe we can still get in a late night practice the day before exams, when no one has class on reading day, when they do the midnight breakfast in the cafe and all that good stuff..A long shot I know, but worth a try to get some excitement going....I dont think it would have been impossible to pull of a midnight madness though..

I think somebody said the problem with having a midnight madness was the cost of security, etc. Heck, they could charge $2 a head and take care of that! I don't understand. Even if they don't have a full fledged practice, a pep rally to kick off the season could work just the same. Aggie Fans need something right now. A basketball event could be it. To introduce the teams to the fans and students and give folk something to be hype about. It's not too late.
AMM, where are you?

It bothers me too that we don't promote and celebrate enough the rising programs within our athletic department. There is no excuse for Dee Todd to let this opportunity pass by without some kind of event. The bball programs and the Corbett center are what's working now for us. Madam Todd needs to redirect some additional funding into those programs and let them continue to develop.

I'm not going to smash the athletic department for not trying to do this because I know McCluney and others over there have really tried hard to make an event like this pop off but I will say that it would have been the highlight of the athletic calendar, students would have packed Corbett and it would have been a great opportunity to see the team, play some games, win some prizes and go home.
One of the reasons I fell in love with App State on one of my visits there in high school was their midnight madness, it was amazing and to see my time here at A&T come and go not have one in all my four years is kind of disappointing.
